Showroom Design Sales Consultant (Inside/Outside Sales)

Position Summary: Responsible for assisting and guiding customers with their selections and purchases by providing insightful and valuable design suggestions and recommendations. Additionally, this position will drive sales by contacting builders, designers and residential architects.

Overview of the responsibilities of the role:

• Greets and interacts with customers in person and on the phone in a friendly and professional manner.
• Consults with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to our products. Educates customers on our products and provides appropriate recommendations and suggestions.
• Answers customer questions about products, offers samples, and checks inventory for products.
• Calls on and contacts builders, designers, residential architects and other related customers to create and drive sales.
• Assists with various marketing tools such as social media posts and special projects (Show houses, Parade of Homes, etc.).
• Creates and inputs notes in to customer software tool to track orders, ensure purchase orders are generated and continues to correspond with customer on product status and needs.
• Helps plan and execute vendor events and group meetings in the showroom.
• Organizes the showroom by ensuring samples are in stock, labeling product samples, ordering catalogs/marketing materials from vendors and clearing and cleaning workspaces and customer areas.
• Works with vendors and various Robert F. Henry Tile warehouses to confirm and complete customer purchases.
• Places special orders, follows up on back orders, handles return and product exchanges.
• Coordinates customer needs with Sales Counter and Warehouse.
• Collects payments using point of sale system/customer software tool.
• Complies with all safety policies and protocols.

An ideal candidate would have:

• a College Degree or equivalent Design Degree (preferred)
• Design sales experience.
• Customer service and/or retail experience.
• the Ability to learn about new products.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Basic mathematical which includes working with and computing room measurements.
• the Ability to read blueprint plans and elevations.
• Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
