JOB DESCRIPTION
Your primary responsibility will be to assist the Chief Executive Officer in managing and growing sales revenue in all distribution markets for the Hotel Tango Whiskey, Inc. organization through building and managing a professional sales team and providing strategic direction. This position will execute the sales strategy set in tandem with the Executive Leadership Team of Hotel Tango and ensure wholesale partners and internal sales team members are performing against their goals and objectives.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Sales Strategy
    • Work with the Executive Leadership Team to plan sales strategy, set goals, and implement company programs to maximize distribution revenue
    • Maintain ultimate accountability for execution against annual sales goals
    • Maximize Company revenue and profitability in the Distribution channels
    • Use data systems to identify opportunities for new or expanded distribution, lost sales, incremental volume increases, and other business insights
    • Provide recommendations for improved success based on trends and feedback from the market
  • Wholesaler Management:
    • Build and maintain relationships with key wholesaler leadership, hold them accountable for agreed-upon goals while entertaining and incentivizing them within legal boundaries in each market
    • Execute annual business planning sessions with all wholesaler partners and regular business reviews within the course of each selling season
    • Execute monthly meetings with wholesaler Sales leadership in each market to to discuss: goals by month, goals by year, programs and initiatives, needs from suppliers, and inventory control
    • Consistently be attending and hosting formal and informal team meetings in all assigned markets
    • Communicate monthly forecasts to internal stakeholders, offer suggested orders to all wholesalers


  • Budget Planning and Accountability

    • Design sales budget proposals, maintaining budgetary accuracy and reporting to the leadership team on a regular basis
    • Divide sales budget amongst team members, making adjustments where necessary and holding team members accountable for executing against assigned budget
  • Leadership and Development
    • Recruit, hire, train and manage a team of sales professionals to meet and exceed the sales goals of the company
    • Execute and improve upon an ongoing sales training program to onboard and develop sales staff, with the goal of increasing their proficiency and helping them to meet their career goals
    • Set, manage and hold the team accountable for a set of key performance indicators and ensure they are holding their teams to the same strict standards
    • Seek out and participate in professional growth and development opportunities for yourself as well as the sales team
    • Demonstrate positive and professional communication skills to all team members and external partners to ensure a healthy working environment
    • Establish a culture of continuous improvement, leading by example and building a winning team
  • Internal and External Relations:
    • Build and maintain relationships with key retail partners across all markets and ensure they are receiving service up to Hotel Tango standards
    • Help plan, execute and attend in-market events as needed across all geographies; provide recommendations for success based on trends and feedback from the market
    • Entertain key retailers as needed, within the confines of the approved budgets and always staying within legal boundaries
    • Create target retailer lists for all markets and manage wholesalers to help convert them to HTW retail accounts
    • Work with wholesaler reps and management as needed
  • Sales Reporting
    • Track and report daily, weekly and monthly results to the executive leadership team and key internal team members
    • Utilize internal and external systems to create timely sales reports for the key internal and external stakeholders, including the executive leadership team and the Board of Directors
    • Responsible for successful completion and tracking of all forms and applications related to wholesale relationships and state and local markets in the Distribution channel
  • Maintain a timely professional calendar that is shared with executive leadership team
  • Sales Programming and Point of Sale
    • Work with Director of Marketing and Marketing team to design and manage high quality seasonal programs and ongoing point of purchase materials and assets
    • Ideate and refine programs to create unique, on-brand, revenue-driving, and easily executable initiatives complete with support materials
    • Ideate and refine support material to include sell sheets, digital imagery, and retail-level point of sale
    • Act as the final point of contact for the Sales team for point of sale budget, ordering and allocation of materials. Hold team accountable for utilization of available resources
    • Communicate available programs and assets to internal and external stakeholders to ensure full utilization of the assets to drive sales and increase brand awareness in the market


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration or similar field required
    • Candidate must be eligible to attain alcohol permits in all existing Hotel Tango markets
    • Must pass company provided WSET training in first 90 days
    • Must be able to gain access to military bases
    • Clean driving record to qualify for company insurance
    • Ability to bend, lift, carry 50+ pounds
    • Ability to walk/or stand for several hours
    • Travel required up to 50%
  • SKILLS
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Drive and Mac computing
    • Strong leadership, communication, team management, and organizational skills
    • Must be skilled in an outside sales role
    • Must be able to work under pressure
    • Well organized and ability to work both within a team and independently
    • Results oriented, innovative, strong problem solving and negotiation skills
    • Ability to inspire action in others via education, management and direction
    • Ability and willingness to maintain a flexible work environment
  • EXPERIENCE
    • 5+ years of proven sales management experience in a similar position
    • 7+ years of direct or outside sales experience
    • Experience in the adult beverage industry is required
    • Experience in a retail setting of the hospitality industry is preferred
    • Experience working under deadlines and meeting demanding goals
