As Sales Leader, you will play a vital role in expanding our storied Bay Area business in the competitive Hawaii market.

The Sales Leader will take responsibility for growing the business in this highly viable location, including introducing and representing the brand, developing a solid customer base, and positioning the company for sustained success.

Role & Responsibilities

Reporting to the President, the Sales Leader drives new business through direct customer engagement and community brand building. Leveraging the most knowledgeable and experienced branch staff in the industry, the Sales Leader is responsible for generating positive sales growth.

  • Proactively promote and sell the value of The Urban Farmer Store via direct sales calls and relationship building, including attending association meetings, and leading customer education events
  • Identify new prospects and proactively pursue new business to realize sales goals
  • Work collaboratively with the Branch Manager, inside salespeople and senior management to help deliver an outstanding customer experience
  • Represent The Urban Farmer Store and manage community partner and association relationships
  • Ideate and spearhead promotional and marketing campaigns to drive forward-thinking customer outreach
  • Actively schedule and deliver product and industry-related training events for customers and community partner organizations
  • Capture broad and deep market intelligence and serve as a key resource to senior management on market and customer trends, sales opportunities, and competition
  • Update and maintain enterprise software and CRM database as appropriate, including data discovery tied to sales initiatives
  • Report on weekly results, both qualitatively and quantitatively

Your Background & Capabilities

  • 5+ years’ sales leadership experience developing and growing a loyal customer base in a related industry
  • Deep knowledge of irrigation and lighting industry products and their application
  • Proven track record of executing on sales strategies and business development plans
  • Ability to build strong relationships with customers, fellow staff, and senior management
  • Passionate about quality, performance, and scalability
  • Results oriented with a direct and professional approach
  • Computer savvy and proficient with a variety of software packages including Excel, Word, and enterprise software
  • Proficiency in Ilocano, Mandarin, or Spanish a plus
  • Post-high school education a plus with bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Solid communication and people skills
