The Development Director is responsible for identifying, prospecting, cultivating, engaging and supporting corporate and community partnerships, events and promotions that result in increased visibility and annual fundraising revenue for First Light. This position partners with the Executive Director and the Board Development Committee Chair to develop a comprehensive fund-raising strategy for the organization. This position is part of the Executive Team and effectively collaborates with First Light staff and management to execute this strategy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
· Responsible for development and execution of a fund-raising strategy in partnership with the Executive Director and the Board Development Committee.
· Responsible for coordinating fund raising activities, promotions, and special events.
· Manages corporate, congregational, and community partnerships to include: research, stewardship, proposal development, sponsorship requests and all associated engagement activities.
· Cultivate and grow the donor base, through yearly increases in donor retention and reactivation rates, the number of new individual donors, and increased individual donor revenue
· Cultivate and steward donors through in-person visits, phone calls and personalized correspondence
· Research grant opportunities, prepares grant applications and grant reports for organization projects and maintain a grants calendar.
· Accepts gifts from donors and assures that receipts and thank you letters are sent promptly and according to policy.
· Work with marketing committees, social media outlets to ensure that events are promoted.
· Prepares reports for Board and Executive Director as required and necessary related to their role.
· Assists in the orientation of new Board members, volunteers and committee members as necessary as related to their role.
· Maintains all donor and fund development records and Builds and maintains an accurate database of all donors and related information resources for use to support all future development campaigns
· Maintains up-to-date schedules of funds received, awarded, committed and requested through agency donor software
· Collaborate with appropriate staff and consultants to create collateral materials for organization including, but not limited to, brochures, newsletters, special projects, annual reports and donor impact reports.
· Completes all other assignments as required by the Executive Director and/or Board.
· Prepare event presentations and other marketing materials and speaks to the media as needed.

Pay: $64,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

- Fundraising: 3 years (Preferred)
