Baldwin & Shell Construction Company is looking for a Business Development Coordinator who will thrive in our Central Arkansas Team.

The Business Development Coordinator will partner closely with the Division President and Business Development Team to generate leads, and manage customer and partner relationships.


To thrive you must:

  • Have previous experience in a business development role: (1-3 years preferred)
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Have strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Respond well to criticism and actively listens to feedback.
  • Be willing to continuously learn and expand your knowledge.

  • Help develop division president and team develop a strategic growth plan.
  • Meet or exceed the company's strategic growth, marketing and sales goals
  • Update activities in Cosential CRM software: leads, opportunities, client information and update progress in pursuit of potential clients.
  • Build strategic partnerships that result in high-value project opportunities.
  • Generate leads, manage customer and partner relationships, and close deals.
  • Work with the Division President to develop a Go-No-Go protocol to use in pursuit decisions.
  • Develop and evaluate competitor and market research to ensure Division and other Divisions within the company are well positioned to compete.
  • Monitor competitor positioning, pricing, sales and development activities and share with all other business development and marketing staff.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
  • Help the Division expand its network of influence throughout the region served by the Division and, as appropriate, into outlying markets.
  • Represent the Division and the Company at professional, philanthropic, civic and industry-specific events, trade shows and participate actively in all these type organizations. This includes markets outside the home city of the Division.
  • In conjunction with the Division President and the Marketing Department, develop a plan to engage employees in community and civic involvement.
  • Possess demonstrated in-depth sales techniques and understanding of business financial principles.
  • Prepare monthly sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Collaborate, coordinate and work closely with everyone on the business development team to support a consistent and unified company message and culture.
  • Entertain potential, current and past clients in appropriate venues as determined with Division President.
  • Find and coordinate RFQ/RFP opportunities.
