Job Description

Job Summary:

Develop and lead a collaborative / strategic partnership with Retail and Wholesale Customers across multiple fronts. Leads representation at the headquarters of these accounts and is responsible for development of strategic relationships, business plans and execution impacting performance across all accounts within the team portfolio. Focus of the role will be to elevate and increase in-person contact and connections with customer portfolio supported with virtual tools (Teams, Zoom, etc.) to elevate visibility to the customer hierarchy. Emphasis placed on building strong collaborative relationships with our field sales organization to help enable execution, opportunity, and issue resolution.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Customer Development:
    • Engage with Sales leadership to share key channel and customer requirements and identify opportunities to leverage across the company
    • Lead Customer Development strategies and plans to support formal Joint Business Planning (JBP) processes across accounts
    • Own customer level contacts and partnerships, to include +2 levels above primary contact ,that drive alignment between ITGB and the customer key strategies
    • Own and implement total Customer Wiring approach to integrate the Company and the customer holistically
    • Form a strategic partnership with customer management representing “One Company” across the 3 business units
  • Customer HQ Selling and Execution
    • Accountable for delivering assigned Sales KPI’s and key Sales and Brand initiatives across strategic customer accounts
    • Identify and pursue incremental opportunities to shape the customer’s current and future business practices to grow the Company brand share while strengthening the Company as a preferred vendor partner
    • Sell and gain commitment to the annual Joint Business Plan with the customer so that they are aligned with company Brands planning horizon to deliver on the assigned Sales KPI’s – volume, distribution, share and other key Brand initiative objectives at key accounts
    • Customize and link Company Brand Strategies, plans and key initiatives with the customer’s key strategies and tactical plans
  • Retail Store Development
    • Measure and enforce all requirements of our retail and wholesale partnership agreements so that they are in full compliance by retail stores
    • Maximize effectiveness of all Merchandising Fixtures/Displays to present a competitive merchandising advantage at retail
    • Deploy retail execution guidelines and key objectives to Retail selling organizations to maximize in-store sales results
    • Ensure all pricing models/metrics are fully implement across retail portfolio (base price, promotions, gap to competition, etc.)
  • Communication and Insights
    • Coordinate communication between assigned customer/channel and company personnel
    • Solicit and report customer and competitive insights to identify critical sales opportunities and provide solutions to Senior Leadership
    • Partner with other business areas to customize and align Category Leadership story and business drivers in all key selling materials
  • Business Planning
    • Collaborate with key functional business stakeholders on key matters pertaining to their assigned strategic customers
    • Ensure Superior Customer Service by leading monthly business reviews and customer visits, lead the collaboration process with customers
    • Interact with Management regarding all aspects of the customer business plans and address key issues and opportunities
    • Support Strategic Customer Inputs into the Company Strategic Planning process by scaling Channel/customer JBP plans, opportunities and themes and sharing these internally for alignment and customization opportunities that shape the Marketing plans for the next Fiscal Year
    • Influence Customer Marketing and Brand Marketing teams on initiative plan development and execution details to improve results
  • Talent Development
    • Coach, Lead, and Develop your Peers and Cross-Functional Partners
    • Support mentorship of peers and cross-functional partners to share knowledge and improve ways of working
    • Evaluate and consistently work on personal development plans to drive continuous improvement and growth
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED and 9+ years related work experience or
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related field of study and 5+ years related work experience
  • Experience with National or Regional customer management within the Broader Consumer Products Industry
  • Experience selling to broad channel base: Convenience, Mass, Grocery, Drug, Dollar/Discount, Club, Wholesale and/or Specialty Tobacco channels
  • Internal Headquarters Relationship, Planning, and Operations experience
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license issued from state in which employed
  • Must be able to travel domestically 50%

  • 10+ years related work experience

5+ years direct supervision/managerial experience
