JD North American is seeking a National Account Manager

As a National Account Manager, you will be focused on maximizing sales opportunities at medium and small-size home centers and hardware accounts. You will be the primary contact to manage business relationships and daily activities within your portfolio of customers as well as driving new business opportunities. You will be responsible to understand your customer’s needs and communicate them to the cross functional team internally. Working with other functions of the business, you will have the opportunity to influence product programs that are compelling for your customers and help achieve our company goals.

Position Responsibilities:

· Maintain, grow and develop assigned key accounts

· Proactively identify and capitalize on new opportunities with strategic accounts, fostering strong relationships and generating sales

· Work with Product Management & Engineering to develop product lines and programs that drive retailer excitement, focusing on end-user problem solving while creating value for our customers

· Understand the competitive landscape, communicate new products in the market and provide new product/feature recommendations in order to compete at your customers

· Meet revenue, volume, profit and growth targets

· Monthly forecast and P&L responsibilities for your assigned accounts

· Communicate with customers on a regular basis both in-person and virtually

· Facilitate the line review process with Product Management units and Marketing to make strategic product selections that are appropriate for each customer

· Develop and align pricing strategies with Product Management, Finance and Sales Management

· Manage several rep groups, ensuring we are using them to maximize our customer relationships as well as sales and profitability

· Leverage our broad product portfolio and brands to maximize sales volume and profit as well as manage channel conflict

· Prepare and present customer presentations, product trainings and other meeting materials as needed

· Plan and attend trade shows for assigned customers as well as industry shows

· Develop pricing programs and promotions for tradeshows for assigned customers

Qualifications & Skills:

· Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in business, business management or marketing

· 7+ years experience in consumer goods sales, calling on retail accounts (home center/hardware accounts preferred)

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Team player that can work collaboratively with other functions of the business (business units, engineering, marketing, inside sales, customer service and finance)

· Ability to develop and grow relationships with customers

· Experience conducting product line reviews

· Strategic mind set

· Experience forecasting and P&L responsibility

· Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word)

· Ability to travel up to 50% including some weekends trade shows

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
