Sales Manager- Electronic Security


Per Mar is looking for a sales manager for our Electronic Security Sales team in our Twin Cities and Bemidji, MN offices.

The Sales Manager is responsible for all aspects of their assigned area’s sales team which include sales and business growth. This position is also responsible for recruitment, training, development, and management of such a team, as well as ensuring assigned sales team coordinates with assigned branch operations, and ensures overall coordination with assigned Area Manager.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the sales team to ensure maximum productivity and the development of new business
  • Follow-up on existing leads.
  • Create opportunities for Per Mar in the marketplace to obtain sales.
  • Increase the recurring revenue of the branch with new sales and enhancement of services provided to existing customers.
  • Work with the Customer Care Department in the resolution of customer issues and concerns.
  • Review all alarm cancellations and implement necessary programs to reduce controllable attrition of the customer base.
  • Ensure the Sales Team oversees the receivables and collection steps to ensure our new customers and new installs are satisfied and we collect the past due balances within 90 days.
  • Develop and manage an ongoing list of potential electronic security sales professionals to maintain a strong bench of talent.
  • Meet the weekly, monthly, and annual sales goals for installation and RMR sales for your assigned area.
  • Ensure Sales Representatives follow and adhere to all KPI’s utilizing InSIGHT
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by interacting with the Per Mar Security Services internal and external customers.
  • Hire, train, and mentor direct reports by making sound hiring decisions to ensure their success through daily, weekly and monthly sales meetings
- Address performance and behavior issues in a timely manner - working closely with Human Resources.
  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment to include, but not limited to, personal computers, printers, scanners and calculators. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required. Degree in business or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years field sales experience required.
  • Minimum 3 years sales management preferred.
  • Direct customer contact experience required.
  • Security Industry experience is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
1. Must be able to travel 30-40% within the market to include some overnights.
2. Must have proven exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
3. Must be able to coach and mentor Sales Representatives in the selling process.
4. Must display strong leadership skills.
5. Must have excellent leadership, organizational, problem resolving, communication skills, and a personable and professional presence are a must.

6. Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
7. Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
8. Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
9. Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
