Learn more at [please apply online] Business Development Director will work closely with Regional Vice Presidents and Business Development Consultants to serve as a focal point for focused Broker Dealers, Registered Investment Advisors and Record Keepers. Responsibilities include strategic, relationship management, and organic growth within the focused firms to positively impact the broader organizations revenue goals.

This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned Internal Wholesaler who aspires to be an External Wholesaler. This role will help you get there with learning the skills and practical experience of getting into the field approximately 50% of the time and driving activity: making calls; in-person meetings; hosting webinars, hosting in-person group events (i.e., happy hours w/ financial advisors, etc.). This position comes with a base and bonus as part of compensation pkg.

Candidate must live in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Minneapolis or Atlanta areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain lasting relationships and promote organic growth with focused Broker Dealers, Registered Investment Advisors and Record Keepers through strategic analyses and execution of consultative solutions to further FuturePlan’s reputation as a premier provider of retirement plan services and to highlight the value of the firm.
  • Deliver proactive communications to update focused Broker Dealers, Registered Investment Advisors and Record Keepers on new products and services, positioning the benefits for their clients.
  • Coordinate regular territory calls with Regional Vice Presidents to review focused Broker Dealers, Registered Investment Advisors and Record Keepers s and to identify focus teams and strategies to enhance their experience and increase sales.
  • Collaborate with DCIO partners to provide reporting and value-add content to focused Broker Dealers, Registered Investment Advisors and Record Keepers.
  • Leverage industry knowledge to promote focused Broker Dealers, Registered Investment Advisors and Record Keepers satisfaction, leading to client retention and organic growth.
  • Advocate for focused Broker Dealers, Registered Investment Advisors and Record Keepers and their clients by collaborating with internal FuturePlan departments.
  • Consistently enhance the FuturePlan experience to strengthen relationships and capture a greater share-of-wallet from focused Broker Dealers, Registered Investment Advisors and Record Keepers.
  • Facilitate focused Broker Dealers, Registered Investment Advisors and Record Keepers Partnership Reviews and share insights to minimize risk, build efficiency and influence growth.
  • Lead and/or participate in projects and initiatives related to the creation of additional value for existing focused Broker Dealers, Registered Investment Advisors and Record Keepers relationships.
  • Maintain proficiency with FuturePlan’s proprietary products to effectively manage focused Broker Dealers, Registered Investment Advisors and Record Keepers relationships across service platforms.
  • Partner with Client Services to ensure a consistent FuturePlan experience and support administrative requests as needed.
  • Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related fields, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in retirement services industry
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in retirement services industry as a Internal Wholesaler capacity, preferred.
  • Prior experience with direct client/client equivalent relationships within a financial service’s administrative environment
  • Ability to work independently as required, but also work within and contribute to maintaining a highly cohesive team environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with a high level of independence
  • Must be detail oriented and be able to produce high quality work within tight time constraints
  • Ability to make sound business judgments while effectively balancing client needs and organizational considerations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including group presentation experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to coordinate and run meetings attended by senior-level personnel in both internal and external environments
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time.
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Detailed understanding of investments utilized in retirement programs

The national average salary is $60,000 – $70,000, exclusive of any bonuses and benefits. This salary range represents the low and high end for this position. Actual salary offered will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, performance, and internal pay alignment. We do not anticipate that candidates hired will begin at the top of the range however, from time to time, it may occur on a case-by-case basis.
