Technical Sales Representative (Collision Repair / Automotive Industry) in Fall River, MA
We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Technical Sales Representative to join our team at Carl's Collision Center. As a Technical Sales Representative, you will be responsible for promoting and selling automotive products, specific to the collision repair segment, from several manufacturers to prospective customers. This is an exciting opportunity to combine your technical knowledge with exceptional sales skills, establishing and nurturing long-term relationships with clients.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and target potential customers in the automotive industry, including jobbers, automotive repair shops, and distributors
- Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and customer needs
- Generate leads and build a robust pipeline of prospects through cold calling, networking, and attending industry events and trade shows
- Travel to industry trade shows to showcase, demonstrate and sell our products to a wider audience
- Develop and deliver persuasive sales presentations, demonstrations, and product training to educate customers on the features and benefits of our products
- Collaborate with internal teams, including product development and marketing, to gather and communicate customer feedback, market insights, and sales opportunities
- Negotiate and close sales deals, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention
- Meet and exceed sales targets and objectives within assigned territories or accounts
- Provide ongoing support and post-sales service to customers, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining strong relationships
- Stay updated on industry advancements, product knowledge, and emerging technologies to effectively communicate value propositions to customers
- Prepare accurate sales reports, forecasts, and activity logs for management review
Requirements:
- Proven track record of success in technical sales, preferably in the automotive industry, a plus if specifically in collision repair
- Strong knowledge of automotive products including a solid understanding of industry terminology and trends
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences
- Strong negotiation and closing skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service
- Self-motivated and target-driven, with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing a consultative and solutions-oriented approach
- Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools to manage customer relationships, track sales activities, and generate reports
- Willingness to travel as required to meet with customers and attend industry events and trade shows
- Valid driver's license
