Sales Manager needed for Corporate, 150 Room, Full-Service Holiday Inn located in Hollywood, Florida.
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Sales Manager will be responsible for the solicitation of new accounts, maintaining relationships with existing accounts, and assist in negotiating contracts for hotel business for corporate, governmental and SMERF markets which include Sports, Social, Military, Educational, Religious and Fraternal segments.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of two years Hotel experience in hotel sales.
- Experienced with utilizing the resources available of a large franchise hotel brand
- Excellent communication skills.
- Self-motivated & resourceful team player
- Must have extensive knowledge of guest relations and service standards.
- Ability to analyze client needs and negotiate pricing.
- Experienced with RFP’s, contracts, revenue management, negotiating, forecasting, marketing plans, and meeting room sales
- Experienced with star report and understands the market and comp set analysis in achieving the hotels goals
- Above average proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of Opera, Sales Pro and IHG Merlin preferred.
- Ability to work under time pressures and extensive hours.
- Good organizational skills and detail oriented.
- Social media savvy preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Position assists in achieving 100% of the sales revenue goals through personal and team efforts.
- Establishing client base through direct outside and inside sales in order to secure business for the hotel.
- Soliciting new accounts new corporate accounts, group business and maintaining relationships with existing accounts. Solicits account leads from group meeting/event planners and decision makers for cultivation and development.
- Developing sales plan and strategy to meet or exceed room night and other revenue goals.
- Manages account details and contracts so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented.
- Communicates and plans for operations departments’ participation in servicing accounts.
- Formulates program and submits formal sales proposals to prospective customers.
- Calls on customers by telephone to solicit business.
- Implement a daily, weekly, and monthly checklist. Ensure follow up to attain maximum quality and efficiency.
- Communicate any information of past, present and upcoming events.
- Ensures proper billing, accordingly to policy, to guest folios and master accounts.
- Incorporates marketing initiatives to support group sales strategies and activities with a larger presence in social media (Facebook, Instagram & Twitter specifically)
- Knowledgeable of the hotels competitive set and recommends sales/pricing strategies, service, and product improvements to stay competitive
- Consistently reviews shifts in the market mix to make deployment and pricing recommendations
- Works with IHG Franchise Sales Resources specific account needs to impact revenues for the hotels
- Maintains a thorough understanding and ability to report on group pace and future group need areas
- Internally communicate client requirements, thereby insuring all information is accurate between client and hotel staff
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
