Position Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for the proactive selling and improvement of lead optimization. This role will focus on implementing Opportunity tracking. The Inside Sales Representative will assist in a variety of cross functional projects providing organizational and administrative support. This role will help drive better accountability and transparency towards sales objectives.

Job Functions:
Account Management

  • Understand the entire sales process from lead inquiry to order fulfillment to include our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, Salesforce
  • Build, secure, and expand relationships with assigned and new accounts (typically C & D level accounts) and to nurture and grow sales. Create and develop new Opportunities from assigned Accounts.
  • Make outbound follow-up calls to existing customers via telephone and email.
  • Understand and emphasize product and company features and benefits in addition to customer applications and markets, especially when overcoming objections.
  • Facilitate quote prices, terms, and orders for all customers.

Lead Management & Sales Team Support

  • Handle inbound, unsolicited Leads calls and emails with an initial response.
  • Create and develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts. Serve as initial point of contact for prospective customers (Leads); screen and prioritize inquiries and coordinate with Sales Team members. When appropriate deliver qualified Opportunities to other team members with calls-to-action, dates, completed profile information, sources, etc.
  • Support Sales Team members in preparing for and executing customer visits, presentations, and samples and aid in the collection of Leads and customer information.
  • Assist Sales Team members with miscellaneous projects as prioritized and needed.

Maintains Salesforce Database

  • Maintain and expand the corporate database by creating and updating Opportunities, Accounts, and Leads in Salesforce for Sales Team, when necessary.
  • Create and develop scripts, library, and database within Salesforce for quick response.

Communications & Marketing

  • Communicate constructively to management and team members on problems or ideas to assist in defining new policies and procedures in creating a customer-focused and efficient workflow.
  • Collaborate with Sales Team to determine strategic sales approaches.
  • Create monthly and interim reports out of Salesforce on customers, pipeline, forecasts, opportunities, new product development, and new leads to share with Sales Team.
  • Communicate in a style reflective of our brand identity and corporate position.
  • Support marketing with information for push emails, website, tradeshows, conference, company events, customer visits, and other items.

General

  • Up to 10% travel to assigned customers, tradeshows, table tops, and other events, as needed.
  • Assist in the timely progress to address and close corrective actions.
  • Maintain compliance with required training for position throughout the year.
  • Other duties as assigned to leverage employee’s strengths and meet corporate goals.

Job Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (technical or business degree preferred).

Experience:

  • Two or more years in sales or customer service in a business-to-business environment.
  • Salesforce or other CRM. Salesforce administrative skills a plus.
  • MailChimp or other marketing campaign software a plus.
  • SQF quality regulations a plus.
  • Manufacturing environment is ideal, preferably food or flavor.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent customer service skills with prompt responses to customers.
  • Excellent internal, verbal and written communication skills to include listening skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, time management, negotiation, organizational, and prospecting skills.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to follow SOPs/protocols as necessary.
  • Basic computer and mathematic skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as customer requests, orders, and market research reports.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to understand, relate to, and apply concepts on a continuous basis.
  • Ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work from home if necessary.
  • Ability to rent a car.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of SQF and food safety regulations.
  • Technical aptitude in the flavor industry is a plus.
  • Ability to author new documents.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 30 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Ability to sit at a desk and use computer for multiple periods of time. Occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; kneel; crouch; talk or hear; taste or smell.
  • Ability to travel in a car and airplane for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in an environment that contains allergens: milk, nuts, sesame, and soy.
