In this important Business Development role, you’re accountable for all aspects of building, selling, and executing joint business plans and operational location support for Karoun Dairies, Chicago.

Given the size and scale of assigned business, the Business Development representative must understand the importance their plans and role has on brand strategies and the broader marketplace.

You'll lead Joint Business Planning, with CEO, Director of Sales, and others to gain alignment on goals and plans. Additionally, you'll collaborate with internal stakeholders to execute the plan and check/adjust as necessary to achieve agreed upon goals.

The Business Development representative is responsible for leading key planning processes and engagements for Chicago area, surrounding cities, and State, including Operating Plan and Business Planning Processes, ongoing communications, and others as needed to ensure alignment with business strategies and adherence planning, policies, and processes. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with cross-function team members as needed to better analyze, build, and execute the business plan.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

Business Development representative CPG – Food industry [Dairy Products] role entails identifying and prioritizing prospects. Helping us sell our products, expand our market, and expand the location operation.

  • The Business Development Representative will primarily be responsible for qualified lead generation and closing new deals, expanding business accounts, responsible for inventory, point of contact, handling location issues with resolutions.
  • Develop the city/state market, hands on with the location operations and distribution movement.
  • Key player in product forecasting.
  • Back up support, team support, and collaborative with WH manager, Driver, and Sales representatives. Ready and willing to cover and support as needed. Cross-trainee for each in coverage and partnership support and assistance.
  • Must be comfortable juggling numerous clients, on- and off-site meetings, and deadlines.
  • Ready and willing to partake and actively, hands on support of Warehouse/Logistics.
  • Highly organized are best equipped to manage the many parts of the job and keep client proposals and other tasks on track.
  • Take responsibility for driving new business opportunities
  • Work towards revenue targets, maintaining sufficient pipeline to achieve target
  • Deliver accurate forecasts
  • Working closely with the teams on leads to follow up directly with the prospective and business leadership.
  • Work with the CEO, Director of Sales, to understand where business introductions can be made and follow business strategic directive.
  • Identify key stakeholders within the client to ensure a clear understanding of the opportunity is known and sale opportunity maximized
  • Experience of selling into new Enterprise opportunities
  • Ideally knowledge of selling into sectors such as CPG Food Industry, specifically Dairy Food.
  • Ideally some structured sales methodology training that you apply to opportunities
  • A background in developing new business, managing the sales cycle from lead initiation to closure, stabilizing and retention.
  • Setting goals and developing plans for business and revenue growth
  • Researching, planning, and implementing new target market initiatives
  • Researching prospective accounts in target markets
  • Pursuing leads and moving them through the acquisition/sales cycle
  • Developing quotes and proposals for prospective clients
  • Provide support on other projects as needed and accomplish tasks as appropriately assigned or requested
  • Assist in coordinating trucking transportation of product orders scheduling, as needed, and support if needed, to ensure product is received on the promised date.
  • Assist in various phases of product activity. (Inventory, WH, logistic, delivery, orders, fulfillment)
  • Working with statistical information.
  • Expedite all orders in the absence of any location team person(s).
  • Setting goals for the business development team and developing strategies to meet those goals
  • Work with management to determine special needs, situations, or changes.
  • Training business development.
  • Attending conferences and industry events.

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

Education

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred

Experience

  • Previous Experience in Business Development required.
  • Previous experience in CPG – Food industry preferred,
  • Knowledge of Logistics relating to Distribution Center operations preferred

Specialized Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP, preferred.
  • Knowledge of Dairy Product Industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of CPG preferred.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven ability to meet and exceed quotas.
  • Ability to translate complex data in a simple manner for customers.
  • Ability to simplify customer feedback to CEO and/or Director of Sales.
  • Familiarity with different Business Development, Sales techniques and pipeline management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in sales tools, processes software alongside strong social media skills.
  • Great organization and communication skill
  • Focused and goal-oriented with a real drive to succeed
  • Build strong relationships that results in a high volume of new business
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common reports and documents.
  • Must be self-motivated, organized and possess strong problem-solving skills.
  • Basic math skills (experience using a 10-key)
  • A curious self-starter, able to work independently without excessive oversight
  • An effective multi-tasker that can set priorities and schedule work activities
  • Ability to effectively present information to management.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Familiarity with personal computers and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to present, converse and report professionally to Leadership.
  • Team work, good communication skills to work closely across departments.
  • Should possess strong communication and organization skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-changing environment.
  • Highly motivated, dynamic, efficient, and fast learning
