Job Description
The Manager, Commercial Sales will lead a team of both local and remote Sales Executives and Account Managers, selling Alertus' technology across North America. This is a high-visibility role within Alertus and is critical to the organization's success. Qualified applicants must possess a customer-centric focus on acquiring new business and maintaining an existing customer base, with a history of quota attainment both as an individual contributor, and a sales leader. As Manager of Commercial Sales, you will be charged with expanding Alertus’ reach into commercial, and local government verticals, and leading a senior-level sales team.

Daily travel to our HQ in Baltimore is required during the ramp up period. Candidates must be located in the DC/MD/VA area.

A Day in the Life:

    • Build and lead a high-performing sales team to exceed short and long-term sales goals through effective recruitment, training, and performance management
    • Implement strategies to obtain new business and penetrate assigned markets
    • Develop and lead the sales team to position Alertus’ products and solutions in enterprise environments
    • Drive both direct and channel sales to maximize revenue
    • Manage and ensure utilization of CRM system (Salesforce)
    • Understand, communicate, and enhance Alertus’ value proposition and solutions
    • Develop, identify, and implement needed processes, policies, and procedures for a rapidly growing company
    • Provide accurate short and long-term forecasting to ensure accurate inventory levels

Required Skills:

    • Background or training in a consultative/solution selling environment
    • Prospecting/new business generation focus
    • Experience selling, presenting, and demonstrating software and technology products or services in Fortune 1000 and enterprise accounts
    • A willingness to travel up to 30-35% of the time
    • Experience in hiring, building, and scaling a sales team

Education and Experience:

    • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience preferred
    • 5+ years of relevant sales and management experience; preferably in IT or technology-based solutions
    • Experience selling, presenting, and demonstrating sophisticated products and solutions at the enterprise level
