Primary Job Purpose
As a member of the Sales Leadership Team, the Sales Manager will lead our small group sales efforts in Utah. The qualified candidate will possess strong skills in strategic planning, managing the small group sales team, developing and improving relationships with key brokers and general agencies in the market, and overseeing initiatives to improve our small group sales process.
General Functions and Outcomes
  • Directs the small group sales team and assists in achieving new sales and retention goals.
  • Works with both the Utah and corporate leadership teams on key growth strategies, improving processes and our products, and working to remove barriers that challenge growth in this segment.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the small group (0-50 employees) and mid-size (51-100 employees) markets in Utah and implements strategies for continued success.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong listening and reasoning skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Oversees collection and evaluation of industry, technical, economic and other relevant data to increase market share and competitive standing.
Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience.
  • Ability to analyze costs and benefits of various solutions which support business strategies and objectives.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing and successfully implementing sales and strategy plans including customer segmentation, sales process design, sales role definition, coverage models, sales organization design, goal setting, performance management and sales incentive programs.
  • Experience developing and delivering clear and concise presentations and workshops for producers and groups.
  • Creative problem-solving capabilities. Ability to deal effectively with a variety of individuals and groups related to adding new lines of coverage and servicing exiting accounts.
Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations, Etc.
Must be currently licensed, or must become licensed within 60 days of hire, to sell insurance (health, life, and/or disability) in the state or states where business is conducted.
The base pay annual salary range for this job is $100,500 - $164,000.
This role has a robust incentive plan based on individual and organizational goal achievement.
