SUMMARY:

The Express Account Manager is responsible for the effective management of renewal accounts, in keeping with agency and individual goals. Express Account Managers are expected to cross-sell new business on existing accounts, assist clients with service needs and make changes to existing accounts, meet service, and sales delivery standards, and perform essential functions to achieve the quality and service standards developed by the agency.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Market, service, develop and retain assigned accounts; meet established account development and retention objectives, as well as a targeted mix of business, underwriting guidelines, and volume commitments; may periodically work with a new business (branch leads)
  • Perform risk analysis surveys, obtain renewal information, complete applications, obtain markets, deliver policies, coordinate efforts of loss control or other services, collect payments, and resolve service problems

  • Retain and develop accounts by making recommendations regarding risk handling to the customer; seek the most cost-effective requested insurance coverages, prepare proposals, evaluate and recommend other lines of coverage, and provide additional resources for the client as needed
  • Negotiate with the insurance companies for the most proper coverage options
  • Keep abreast of all new sales programs
  • Perform all client transactions and maintain client files on the designated agency management system
  • Identify and refer potential new business cross-selling opportunities, within the INSURICA network
  • Check new and renewal policies, endorsements, audits, and cancellations and promptly handle for accuracy in rating, language format, coverage, and signatures; input the transactions to generate billing invoices and quality products for our customers; maintain files in an orderly, up-to-date manner
  • Independently create renewal proposals and conduct renewal meetings with customers, if requested
  • Review all activities relating to the public, customers, and companies to avoid issues involving potential errors and omissions
  • Participate in seminars and other training to maintain required licenses and for knowledge and skill development

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must possess sound knowledge of rating procedures, coverage, and industry operations to effectively manage, maintain and write assigned client and prospect lists
  • Full proficiency in online rating, with multiple carriers
  • Full knowledge of insurance markets is essential
  • Strong PC skills, with the ability to effectively utilize the agency's management systems
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced, changing priority environment
  • Self-motivated, with the initiative to prioritize and be self-directed
  • Regular and punctual attendance is required
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally, and in writing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both colleagues, and managers, across all levels
  • Ability to promote, and maintain a team environment, willing to find accommodating solutions for our customers, companies, and the Agency
  • Ability to successfully adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as maintain strict confidentiality


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Property and Casualty license, as required by the State Department of Insurance
  • 3-7 Years previous commercial insurance account management experience preferred
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • CISR/CIC designations preferred


WORKING CONDITIONS AND REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS:

  • Fast-paced, multi-tasking, office environment with periodic high disruption and changing priorities
  • Ability to perform approximately 80% sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and negligible force frequently
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
  • Requires operation of a computer workstation, including keyboard and video display
