Job Description
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer as an executive staff position, the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) will play a pivotal role in the company’s growth by developing a vision and providing leadership for company-wide activities and strategies focused on generating, maintaining and increasing company revenue. This role will oversee product management and pricing, sales, marketing and customer experience. The person in it will have ultimate accountability in aligning and building strategic partnerships with their cross-functional expertise. In addition, the CRO will ensure that communication and information sharing runs smoothly between departments. This job will require you to:

  • Create and oversee long-term strategic priorities to integrate and align functions responsible for achieving revenue and direct margin targets and growing demand for the company’s products and services.
  • Look for internal and external opportunities to expand and optimize revenue-producing activities, sales channels and partnerships.
  • Establish targets, policies and internal processes to achieve efficiencies in revenue generation and capture.
  • Monitor revenue and direct margin through reporting, dashboards and tracking to provide competitive analysis and develop actionable insights that drive data-driven strategies and tactics.
  • Establish analytics and methods to measure and forecast demand and market conditions and identify operational deficiencies.
  • Leverages knowledge of the customer base to ensure their needs are at the forefront of product development and enhancement cycles.
  • Leads go-to-market strategies for both mature and emerging products.
  • Identifies strategic pricing, promotional and placement opportunities and reviews current marketing budget allocation to determine the most profitable ways to maximize channel growth.
  • Protects and continuously strengthens brand and product awareness through effective and efficient customer interfacing strategies.
  • Increases sales velocity through improved 4P strategies to exponentially increase the number of new customers annually. Analyzes potential opportunities and determines the best division of resources to maximize wins.
  • Propels team leaders to develop and implement short- and long-term strategies, adjusting as necessary based on changing business conditions.
  • Manages and motivates staff to achieve revenue and direct margin goals, holding team members to a high standard of excellence and accountability.

Qualifications
Desired skills and experience:

  • College degree required. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years’ progressive leadership and management experience in Sales, Marketing, Customer Experience and / or Product Management with heavy emphasis on strategic planning and execution.
  • Proven track record of growing revenue and direct margin through new product development, sales and marketing.
  • Well versed in complex direct and channel sales processes.
  • Ability to forecast the business accurately and ensure operations are measured and optimized to align with sales, budget and marketing targets.
  • Background in consumer goods sales and marketing efforts through large retail partners.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and a history of decision making based upon business metrics.
  • Track record of managing multiple projects with a demonstrated ability to prioritize efforts based on ROI to the business.
  • Strategic and highly analytical with the ability to take large amounts of information and develop innovative solutions and a leaning towards data-driven decision making and execution.
  • Exceptional relationship building, communication and interpersonal skills. Projects self confidence and a positive can-do attitude.
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality projects within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
  • Excellent leadership, management and mentoring skills. Must be a strong team player and have the ability to simplify complex problems.
