One of America's most successful manufacturers of filing cabinets and storage solutions is searching for a Sales Assistant for its corporate headquarters in West Des Moines, IA. Position Summary:

This position provides support for the Hirsh sales team. This person is responsible for compiling and analyzing sales data, setting up new items with customers through vendor portals/websites, handling customer and sales rep requests for materials and literature, helping develop and put together sales and training presentations, proofing & providing content for customer websites and print vehicles, provide approved price quotes to customers and coordinate trade show needs and logistics. Some travel is required. This person reports directly to the Director of Sales Administration.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Run sales reports from SAP system and provide to sales managers accordingly.
  • Enforce PIP dealer program.
  • Calculate, verify & provide special quote details to dealers and document information in Salesforce.
  • Enter Sample Requests into SAP.
  • Follow up on incomplete POs that come in from Dealers and get complete information to customer service for processing.
  • Maintain data, utilizing Salesforce for the Customer Relationship Management on pricing, special quotes, account contacts and important notes.
  • Become proficient in select customer vendor portals to support the Sales Managers with new item set-up, price changes, accessing sales reports, and any other needs as dictated by the customer.
  • Interface with customers and sales representatives to provide information & solve issues as needed.
  • Help prepare and enhance sales department presentations.
  • Ship paint, correction pens and laminate samples as needed.
  • Learn & study, salsify & company website, to be a “second” set of eyes to ensure information is up to date and correct. Work directly with Product Managers for any needed updates.
  • Schedule internal meetings, attend, take & provide notes to sales team as needed.
  • Attend key customer meetings to capture action items and important notes for Sales team follow up and reference.
  • Coordinate customer meetings, in person or on-line. Determine needs with assigned Sales Manager, make necessary arrangements and communicate updates accordingly.
  • Coordinate annual trade shows by setting up meetings to determine Hirsh attendees and product samples to be at the show. Sign contracts, register for the event, reserve hotel rooms, register attendees, arrange for product samples to arrive and in show quality condition, get access to the exhibitor manual, complete the online exhibitor profile, arrange for props, print Hirsh materials and box up tools, cleaning wipes and return shipping labels accordingly.
  • Update COI’s annually for customers via email, fax, mail or updating thru customer portal. Need to be able to work with Accounting and Holmes Murphy as needed.
  • Update USMCA Certificate of Origin (FKA: NAFTA) as requested by account annually. May need to review with Product Managers as needed to be sure correct information is sent.
  • Assist the Director of Sales Administration as needed for customer support needs and documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • College degree
  • Experience in a professional office environment preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft office
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong data analytics
  • Able to work independently

This role is an office position with up to 15% travel, when COVID circumstances permit, to national trade shows and customer meetings.
