The Opportunity

Responsible for (1) overseeing the daily sales compensation activities for internal sales representatives, brokers and sales management who are participants in SCAN’s commission incentive pay plans. (2) Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of sales and broker compensation payments. (3) Developing and maintaining the system and procedures for Sales and Brokers commission, and (4) ad hoc projects, as necessary.

You Will

  • Lead the uploads, setups, and maintenance of the sales commission contracts and payment logic methodology in the compensation management system by working in conjunction with the Sales Leadership, SCAN’s IT, Healthcare Enterprise Solutions (HES) and API.
  • Work with Sales Operations related to any payment related issues, including set-up and maintenance of API vendor portal.
  • Generate and review the monthly commission payment calculations for employed sales representatives, and contracted agents/agencies for accuracy, completeness and timeliness for all SCAN entities.
  • Oversee and coordinate with SCAN’s external vendor API the annual 1099 reporting process for payments to external brokers.
  • Provide support to internal and external customers in addressing commission payment inquiries and analyzing data discrepancies. Research discrepancies to understand the root cause and propose solutions designed to address any issues. Troubleshoot to correct issues as needed.
  • Analyze monthly commission payments based on trend, year over year, and to budget and forecast to support the financial reporting process, and help drive business decisions.
  • Prepare required reports in a timely manner to meet General Accounting monthly and annual close deadlines. The reports include, but are not limited to, the monthly broker commission check register, new and renewal commissions ,and sales commission receivable allowance evaluation. Develop commission reports for the organization and keep management apprised of any issues.
  • Coordination with and Reporting for various internal departments. For example, commission data monthly for the FP&A team to assist with forecasting.
  • Design and update operational procedures and processes, develop standards and improve efficiency and accuracy of day-to-day operations.
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert in Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) guidelines for sales commission payments and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Provide support for any MIPPA, CMS, and Regulatory or Financial audits related to sales commissions. Oversee interactions with auditors through company channels, ensuring accurate and timely responses to inquiries regarding commission related issues.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 5+ years of accounting and/or sales commission experience is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with financial payment systems Oracle preferred
  • Experience with records management and records archiving.
  • Experience with Commission Management Systems (Evolve and API) preferred.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience with Health Plan Membership files and CMS Membership reporting methodologies.
  • Experience working successfully in cross-functional team environments.
  • Extensive understanding of Broker Compensation models and CMS MIPPA Compensation Rules.
  • Understanding of Sales processes and Sales compensation programs.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
