Job Summary

Seeking a motivated sales professional to promote NuSil silicones to existing and potential customers. The ideal candidate would be a self-starter that qualifies and converts leads, guides the customer in selecting the appropriate product for their application, answer questions about products, maintain customer satisfaction and retention, and generate revenue in line with company’s goals. This position will focus on developing a sales pipeline and closing business over the phone with customers. NuSil high-purity silicone materials play an important role in the function of devices and platforms across highly regulated industries such as the medical device and aerospace industries.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a territory consisting of >200 customers within specific Market Segments.
  • Drive market share gains and meet company expectations for growth by managing a large volume of inbound and outbound phone calls and emails each day.
  • Sell consultatively by demonstrating an understanding of the prospect’s challenges, and provide solutions based on NuSil product offering and value proposition.
  • Qualify customers and prospects to determine if they should be escalated to business development team for further development and closure
  • Develop customer relationships
  • Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner
  • Recommend alternate products based on availability or specifications
  • Timely follow up on quotes and samples to lead the prospect to a sale and follow-up post-sale to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Prospect and establish new customers by managing a sales pipeline using Salesforce.com and developing and delivering proposals to customers by illustrating the NuSil brand’s value proposition.
  • Grow, monitor and manage accounts
  • Communicate effectively and persuasively to a high volume of people throughout the workday via phone and email.
  • Manage open orders and provide updates to the customer on ship dates
  • Work in conjunction with sales management team by implementing sales strategies to achieve sales growth and quota attainment.
  • Quote customers, enter orders as time permits
  • Work directly with sales representatives and applications engineers to develop and continually improve product knowledge.
  • Represent the NuSil brand and present a professional image to customers to give an outstanding image and impression of NuSil and Avantor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)

  • College Degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • 1-3+ Years Sales Experience Preferred
  • Business to Business Sales Experience Preferred

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)

  • Excellent listening, verbal and written skills
  • Excellent communication and team interaction skills, routinely interacting with customers and other NuSil associates
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively over the phone and email
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to carry on a business conversation with business owners and decision makers
  • Ability to handle difficult situations and interactions
  • Ability to work independently and successfully manage time and territory
  • Ability to understand individual customer operations
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations as needed
  • Computer Knowledge (Microsoft Office), Salesforce.com knowledge is a plus

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)

  • Works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
  • Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.
  • A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.
  • Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
