POSITION DESCRIPTION


REPORTS TO: OPERATIONS MANAGER

LOCATION: Omaha, NE office, some travel required

JOB TYPE: Full Time, Non-exempt, in person

This position is in person/in office and requires some travel (10%)


POSITION PURPOSE


Position Purpose


The Customer Account Executive is responsible for ensuring all logistics sales targets are met, generating new business and ensuring customer needs are satisfied. This position will establish and maintain direct contact with new and existing customers, establish a rapport with those customers and be responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and analyzing the efficient distribution of those customers‘ products throughout multiple locations. This position will provide a solutions-driven approach to logistics to develop, manage and grow a book of business while supporting additional departmental needs through the process.


Essential Functions

  • Grow a strong sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, and extensive phone outreach
  • Communicate extensively with customers for inventory needs
  • Validate shipment, receipt, and invoices for all product received and shipped
  • Perform extensive pricing and contract negotiation
  • Continually analyze accounts to determine efficiency and profitability
  • Develop, execute and monitor strategic and tactical goals to maximize sales, profit and to ensure sales targets are met or exceeded
  • Deliver timely communications on exceptions, changes to the facility / transport environment, problem resolution, and equipment / service needs, and provides input to resolve capacity and service needs
  • Develop strong working relationships with internal and external customers including the Management, dispatchers, carriers, vendors, and other relevant individuals in the supply chain
  • Represent a critical on-site presence to internal customers, and maintains a proper professional approach in all types of interactions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications


Education: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience

Experience: 2-3 years of experience in logistics or transportation operations
