Director, Business Development (Biopharma): The Director, Business Development is responsible for prospecting within targeted biopharmaceutical company accounts in order to pitch and close sales. The position requires an individual who has demonstrated experience at efficiently and effectively prospecting, pitching, and closing multi-stakeholder sales deals on the commercial side of the biopharma industry. The position provides a robust and compelling commission plan that is tailor-made for a hard-charging business development professional to generate meaningful income. A bachelor's degree or its equivalent is preferred along with 3-5 years of proven sales experience to biopharmaceutical organizations. Candidate must have the business presence and professionalism to support the HCP Concierge brand favorably in the marketplace. This role includes the entire sales cycle from hunting new opportunities to contracting the program, and requires an individual to “roll up their sleeves” and work very hard to pursue business passionately. This is an individual contributor role, not a sales team leader role. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected in order to deliver results.
Responsibilities:
- Managing and driving the business development process for assigned accounts, including financial and commercial analysis to secure new business
- Maintaining a constant focus on hunting new business opportunities
- Communicating with leadership to provide transparent view of pipeline targets and activity
- Managing business needs on a day-to-day basis which includes regular market visits with clients, and engagement in the industry and issues of the day
- Acting as a strategic partner with the client, cultivating relationships while providing “win-win” solutions to complex business needs
- Building relationships with all internal departments, especially client services to ensure client satisfaction across the duration of each engagement
- Conducting opportunity assessment for all accounts and defining overall account strategy
- Must possess and demonstrate strong communication (written and oral) skills and the ability to work cross functionally across multiple business units
- Must possess strong negotiation skills, and be a self-starter with a positive attitude
Job Requirements of the Director of Business Development
The ideal candidate has a clear track record of success prospecting, pitching, and closing deals on the commercial side of the biopharma industry.
- Minimum of 3-5 years selling to biopharma organizations
- Must have experience working on complex high dollar sales opportunities with a proven track record of success
- Deep experience in hunting new opportunities, including demonstrated effectiveness at prospecting to generate leads that convert to sales
- Proficient in customer presentations utilizing various types of technology
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel. PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Must be able to travel both locally and out-of-town as needed
- Outstanding presentation and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) is preferred but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
