Our AAA Five Diamond Resort is recruiting a Resort Sales Manager I to join our team! Ponte Vedra Beach Resorts is looking for a Sales Manager to manage accounts, solicit new group sales accounts and maintain relationships with existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals in rooms, food, beverage and room rental.
EDUCATION: College degree preferred. Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language at a level sufficient to communicate effectively with clients and staff.

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: 3 years leadership experience in luxury hotels or resorts and 1 year experience in Sales and Marketing or Conference Services preferred.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Working knowledge of hotel/resort operations with experience in selling process, proposal writing and conference planning. Possesses knowledge of hotel features, benefits, and competing hotels within the market.

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for selling group business from all markets/regions primarily handling blocks of 10 to 20 rooms per night while maximizing revenues for all areas of the hotel. Assists in the overall efficient operation of the Sales Department, manages accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and solicits new and past business to ensure revenue goals are met or exceeded. Responds in a timely manner to group business opportunities with strong focus on closing the sale.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Must be able to travel as needed; Provide property tours to prospective guests; and effectively communicate with the guests in person and over the phone.

DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
Responds in a timely manner to incoming group/catering business opportunities.
Ensures that all business is booked within hotel parameters.
Conducts hotel site inspections and client presentations.
Create contracts and other related booking documentation as required. Manage and maintain client account files.
Prospect for new business participate in sales blitzes, cold calling and contacting former clients to solicit new business and attends industry events/programs as needed.
Builds and maintains strong client relationships.
Use negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
Knowledge of sales techniques including closing skills as well as negotiating skills.
Monitor group room blocks and pick up, relay client comments and information for the operating departments.
Ability to work within multiple technology platforms.
