Sacramento Marriott Rancho Cordova is currently seeking an experienced Sales Manager responsible for booking groups, room blocks and conferences within the assigned market of 10 or more rooms on peak night. The Sales Manager will be responsible for the management and proactive selling of the Sports, Military, and Education, Religious, Fraternal, and Specialty markets.

The Sacramento Marriott is a unique Full Service hotel with 14,000 square feet of meeting space and full catering capabilities. On site is a Full Service Starbucks offering discounts to our Team Members. The Sacramento Marriott is a top ranked hotel on TripAdvisor Popularity in Rancho Cordova – centrally located between Sacramento and Folsom with easy freeway and light rail access.

Candidates for this opportunity should have a minimum of 2 years Sales experience at a hotel of similar size and quality to include 3-4 Diamond rating, 200 guestrooms or higher and at least 10,000 sq. ft. of space.

The Sales Manager will need to demonstrate the following skills:
Strong skills required for generating of group proposals and negotiation and issuing of sales contracts.

  • Strong communication skills, a professional appearance, and presence
  • Proactive sales approach, assertive and fast-paced, driven to succeed
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, guests and other Team Members
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems to include Microsoft Office. Experience with Delphi system preferred
  • Understanding of market segment, competitors’ strengths, weaknesses, economic trends, supply, and demand

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1 -2 years experience as a Sales manager at a limited and/or a full service property that has at least 100 guest rooms.
  • Four Star/Four Diamond, upscale hotel experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management or related area of study preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
