THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Human Resources Business Partner – Sales & Operations (West Coast) role contributes to the company’s performance by providing tactical and strategic consulting on people and organization development strategies in support of the business objectives. Performs HR-related duties at the professional level while supporting more than one functional group.
Preference will be given to applicants that reside in Southern California or the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partners with HR, Regional, Branch, Sales, Plant & Union Leadership to align HR strategy to business strategy.
- Acts as change agent to business through process approaches that support change to lead mutual processes to best practice status.
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with HR peers to develop solutions; programs and policies.
- Provides day-to-day recommendations to leadership on a variety of actions to include employee relations issues, policy interpretation and application; talent management and development; and consultation.
- Performs recruitment for assigned Branches and facilities. Makes referrals to hiring manager and ensures efficient turn-around activity.
- Supports annual HR cycle deliverables to include performance reviews; Learning Café Training Modules, benefits enrollment; etc.
- Evaluates issues, patterns, and trends to provide proactive insights for HR solution i.e. training to address certain needs.
- Partners with Payroll; HRIS; and Total Rewards functions as needed to provide solutions for team members.
- All other duties assigned.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Experience – 5 to 6 years of HR experience with at least 2-3 years of experience as an HR Partner or similar experience in a Union environment and Working Knowledge or experience with CA Labor Laws.
- Minimum Education – Bachelor’s Degree in HR or Business related field
- Requires knowledge of HRIS databased (ADP or similar) and MS Office Suite
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Multi-site location support experience a plus
- Master’s Degree a plus
- or HR Professionals certification a plus
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Proven strong foundation and knowledge of principles & practice of HR including employment law & compliance requirements
- Proven ability to effectively coach employees and management through complex and difficult issues
- Proven business literacy skills
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment
- Ability to set high personal goals and work independently
- Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize tasks
- Ability to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues
- Demonstrated project management skills
WORK ENVIROMENT:
This is a remote position with most communications and telecommunications facilitated through web-based programs, emails, and or telephone.
Preference will be given to applicants that reside in Southern California or the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Normal office environment, ability to sit for 8 hours or more, occasionally stand and operate office equipment.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Some travel may be required upon request of HR Leadership and or as needed.
