The Big Picture
Howden is a global engineering business who focuses on providing clients with industrial products that help multiple sectors improve their everyday processes. Howden’s core focus is on providing quality solutions for air and gas handling, and have over a century of experience in doing so. We are currently seeking Regional Sales Manager in the US Northeast region to join our dynamic and fast-paced environment in the Aftermarket business. In this role you will be responsible for selling all Howden products and services to existing and new customers within the assigned territory.

What needs to be done?
  • Makes sales call’s regularly to all existing customers and potential customer locations within the geographical boundaries of the sales territory to identify sales opportunities
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of products and services, and utilize this knowledge to promote and sell products and services successfully
  • Identify essential customer requirements and demonstrate to customers how our products or services satisfy those requirements
  • Continually research and compile listings of prospective customers to create sales leads
  • Gathers sales leads from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, websites, and other sources
  • Continually grows Howden sales penetration and opportunities within the assigned territory
  • Identifies each customer or potential customer’s needs and expectations to establish a successful customer-supplier working relationship
  • Follows up with customers to ensure satisfaction and expand business opportunities
  • Quotes pricing and credit terms as defined by Howden
  • Estimates date of delivery (lead-time) to customers for their orders based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules
  • Maintains and updates data about their territories and accounts
  • Prepares and submits weekly sales call reports
  • Prepares and submits monthly expense reports
  • Deliver budgeted sales and margins as per the agreed annual sales plan
  • Engage in up-selling/cross-selling of products and services when appropriate
  • Answers telephones, text messages, and e-mail in a professional manner in line with Howden’s values
  • Work effectively with internal support departments (Customer Service, Operations, Engineering...) to promote and support sales to existing and new customers
  • Other duties as assigned

What do you need to bring?
  • Background or education in technical sales, engineering, or similar fields
  • Strong interest or experience in technical sales and territory management
  • Significant experience in the Petro Chemical, Oil and Gas, or similar industries
  • Valid driver’s license for company travel related to responsibilities
  • Legal ability to work in the United States of America
  • Currently living in Northeast, US region
