Now Hiring - Professional Services Customer Service Consultant & Ceramic Tile Showroom Sales in Cranston, RI

We are a retail/wholesale distributor of ceramic tile and stone products that has been in business for over 69 years. Our showroom and warehouse are located in the central part of Cranston, Rhode Island.

We currently have six Customer Service/Showroom Sales Consultants, and we are looking to add one more person to our team-oriented company. This position is either a full-time role of 40 hours per week, presently working Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 4:30PM, or a flexible role of 30 hours per week, working Monday - Friday, 10:00AM - 3:00PM. Compensation packages combine an hourly rate plus showroom sales commission, and range from $60,000 - $72,000 annually for the full-time role.

Our office and showroom is a fast paced, busy environment, and potential candidates will need to be proficient in multitasking. Our order processing requires accuracy, speed, and attention to detail. Showroom sales requires working with customers to design living areas with ceramic tile, stone, and glass mosaics.

This is an eclectic position, and candidates need to be able to communicate effectively and clearly with both retail home owners, and also ceramic tile contractors or home builders. You must be able to work well with people in general, and customers in particular. Responsibilities:

• Service wholesale contractors and retail customers in our showroom
• Assist clients in selecting ceramic tile, stone and related products for their various home improvement and building projects
• Develop lasting customer relationships by treating customers with courtesy
• Promptly and professionally answer and return customer and sales inquiries
• Process purchase orders over the telephone, e-mail, and fax machine
• Identify and address problems as they arise
• Provide accurate and expert information; be responsive to the concerns of all customers as the first "point-of-contact" between the customer and Rhode Island Tile

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience in the ceramic tile, flooring industry or a showroom environment is a plus, but is not required. We can provide training and education in the tile and natural stone industry.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Must be a team player and take pride in providing excellent customer service
• Honesty, respect, responsibility, and a willingness to work hard for fair compensation
• A good aptitude for learning computer software used for order entry
• Successfully complete and pass pre-employment background check
