Position Summary


The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for organic and new account sales growth in the hydraulic equipment marketplace. Assigned to a ‘GEO’, the position has a defined geographic territory within the U.S.A. The sales professional is located in the geographical territory.


Position Responsibilities


The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for not limited to the following:

  • Initiates, manages, and develops business for hydraulic system components including but not limited to cylinders, valves, manifolds, pumps, motors, service parts, and custom hydraulic kits.
  • Grows customer base to meet or exceed individual and team sales goals.
  • Cultivates and maintains long term relationships with customers with the intent to grow share of wallet while enabling customers to win and achieve their business objectives.
  • Provides insight to Bailey on product competitiveness via independent market and customer research. This insight is also validated from input received by developing trusted relationships with assigned accounts.
  • Utilizing the challenger sales model, engage with customers to challenge the status-quo and offer tailored solutions that help drive customer performance metrics.
  • Maintains focused sales call level monthly, achieves customer ‘in-person visit’ and ‘customer phone/virtual call’ KPI’s from the office. All call information logged daily into a CRM platform.
  • Participates in trade shows effectively engaging with new prospects and advancing share-of-wallet opportunities with existing customers.
  • Coordinates and drives actions with the appropriate departments to quickly resolve customer issues/concerns.
  • Lead development generator. Conducts independent market research to identify potential customers and aggressively pursues cold calls. Also utilizes Bailey’s internal Business Development Team for targeted lead prospect requests by market and region. Executes all lead tracking and follow-up while documenting progress in CRM.
  • Manages efficient sales opportunity and customer support while operating within travel budget.


Position Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree, strong preference to a B.S. degree in a technical discipline. B.A. degrees also considered.
  • At least five years of experience in a technical product sales role with a proven track record of selling success.
  • Experience selling to OEM’s and distribution partners alike.
  • Hydraulic sales experience from a hydraulic fluid power manufacturing company or distributor a plus.
  • Able to travel up to 60% of the time, overnight travel included.

  • Works autonomously and collaboratively in a fast past environment while maintaining focus on achieving sales goals and job function KPI’s.
  • Daily interactions with cloud-based ERP platform, from order inquiries to sales funnel development to customer call documentation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office products from professional customer communication letters to mid-level excel skills for customer and sales data analysis.
  • Sits in an office environment and/ or in front of a computer for long periods of time with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Lifts up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Ability to work weekends based on business needs.
