Rental Group Sales Manager

Full Time

Salary: $50,000 - 70,000

Location: 127 Town Center Blvd. Clermont, FL 34714

Job Summary:

This is a hybrid group sales/housing manager position that sells and services all group leads within the Exploria brand. The ideal candidate performs a range of duties including generating and nurturing leads, negotiating group rates and concessions, generating contracts, as well as servicing the group (entering rooming list and sending out group resumes) once it is booked. This position is part of a dynamic Rental Revenue Management team who aims to maximize revenues through effective and strategic decisions that align with budgeted goals.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Responsible for generating group business to meet/exceed rental sales goal
Solicit, negotiate and book new/repeat business within various markets
Provide timely responses to requests for proposals, both direct and via 3rd party platform such as Hotel Planner
Generate group contracts and negotiate concessions to close the business
Work with potential or existing clients via inbound and outbound calls to generate new group leads
Understand sales strategies and tactics of competitor hotels
Enter all tentative and definite groups into booking engine and hotel PMS as they book, and set-up group billing masters as needed
Enter and manage group dates as well as shoulder dates for all groups
Create and send weblink to planners and monitor pickup and contracted room blocks
Trace and follow-up on all decision dates and group cut-off dates and report status to Revenue manager
Maintain accurate files and reports
Communicate all relevant information to the hotels’ operations staff
Answer guest inquiries about hotel services and/or facilities
Book and process all guest reservations while focusing on maximizing room revenue and average rate - Upsell rooms when possible
Process and post cancellations and no-show revenue for all properties
Process advance deposits as noted in the contracts
Process and maintain record of group commissions paid
Ensure high level of accuracy and details for all reservations
Ability to manage and respond to guest complaints
Participates in yield management strategies
Understands and adheres to proper credit and accounting policies and procedures
Maintain positive guest relations
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new computer applications
Excellent people and problem-solving skills
Good communication skills both written and verbal – being bilingual is a plus
Ability to multi-task efficiently and quickly adapt to an ever-changing environment.
Ability to work flexible hours
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Minimum 2 years group sales and/or housing experience within the hospitality industry.
College degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
