We are seeking a Sales Engineer to add to our experienced Sales Engineering team in this environmentally focused industry.

  • A Sales Engineer at Smith and Loveless is BOTH a personable Communicator and Technically oriented. This individual will act as the face of the company, traveling domestically to meet directly with potential and existing client markets to support our local team of Sales Engineering Managers. This includes assisting consulting Engineers representing clients but also visiting clients for new opportunities.

We are seeking candidates with:

  • Bachelor of Science Engineering or equivalent technical sales experience
  • Ability to travel domestically throughout the United States (50%, after initial training period in internal sales support role)
  • Training period may require some field travel to gain experience.
  • Strong Written/Verbal Communication Skills
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills
  • Experience in Engineering or Manufacturing is a big plus but not required.

Specific Duties:

  • A strong mechanical background to a Support the Sales Managers in their sales activities.
  • Support includes equipment sizing and budget proposal preparation
  • Conference calls may be required to assist Consulting Engineers with equipment applications.
  • Assist in the preparation of specifications and review of the same once draft versions are created.
  • Provide technical assistance to Representatives, Municipalities, and Consulting Engineers.
  • Maintain an open and effective line of communication between the sales representatives, application engineering group, and internal departments, promoting team effort, mediating differences, and improving interpersonal relationships and cooperation.
  • Maintain an open line of communication with S&L’s Process Engineering and S&L’s Cost Coordination Department.
  • Maintain an effective line of communication with customers (including end-users, contractors, and designers) as necessary for overall success.
