Job Description
Scope of Responsibilities
Provide design services for qualified projects ranging from distributed loudspeaker systems to performance audio systems within the Americas. Providing designs within defined timelines, in a standard format with the goal of assisting partners in crafting a proposal for their end customers. This is a pre-sales activity detailing system requirements and generating a quote. The Design Engineer will be part of the Sales Engineering Team within the Bose Professional Americas Sales Team.
Specific Responsibilities
The Design Engineer’s primary responsibility is to create design proposals comprised of Bose Professional products including loudspeakers, digital signal processors (DSP’s), amplifiers, controls and accessories within the Bose Professional Design Proposal Template. This is accomplished by utilizing acoustical modeling software to create a virtual representation of the space and to model the loudspeakers' performance within the space to determine if they will meet the customer’s requirements.
When a full design is not required, the Design Engineer may be asked to create a budget estimate to help partners validate design concepts and set budgets with their customers.
The Design Engineer will use our customer relationship management (CRM) system to enter opportunity information, track close rates and maintain the design queue, ensuring defined turnaround times are maintained.
Over time, by collaborating with the Sales Engineering and Technical Support teams, a goal for this role will be to become a technical expert on all Bose Professional products and technologies for the purpose of system design, customer interaction and technical support.
Experience
This person will have a consistent track record (1-3 years) of professional audio systems design. It is strongly desirable that they have installation experience directly or hands on in a role as project manager or systems engineer. Loudspeaker commissioning experience is preferred, but not required.

    • CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, or similar)
