General Purpose and Scope of Position:

The Seed Sales Representative's primary role is to grow the seed technology business within their assigned territory. By working closely with key suppliers, the Seed Sales Representative will provide leading seed varieties to their customers. Also responsible for managing existing and attracting new customers within the sales territory, providing agronomic solutions, and maintaining and developing profitable customer relationships.

Key Skills and Abilities Include:

Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

Willingness to travel

Minimum of Trade School or Associates degree preferred

Candidates should have three or more years of Ag experience, including previous experience in agronomy, crop production, or seed sales

Develop and maintain a thorough agronomic and technical knowledge of a portfolio of products and services applicable to the assigned territory.

Manage customer accounts & recruit new customers to increase sales.

Communicate and implement Wilbur-Ellis' seed sales programs and policies within the assigned territory to meet sales targets.

Develop and enhance relationships with customers and potential customers, either personally or through a designated seller.

Impact and influence - Ability to influence, develop and maintain effective internal/external relationships.

Interpersonal effectiveness - Is sensitive to different points of view and seeks to understand and resolve conflicts/issues in a constructive manner. Able to operate effectively and comfortably with different cultures, in challenging situations and to direct and instruct in a respectful and polite manner.

Ensuring business processes associated with seed technology are adopted and followed.

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

Actively expand the customer base to grow seed sales in central Michigan

Point person with branch teams in the territory including seed selling, ordering, purchasing, and managing inventory

Responsible for sales territory forecasting, training, and analysis.

Communicate and implement key initiatives, objectives, strategies, and action plans

Work with sales managers to develop an annual business plan that optimizes seed growth and profitability for the territory.

Implement marketing and sales plans; establish and meet sales goals, and network with industry representatives to expand sales opportunities

Build product and market knowledge to add understanding and credibility using plots and side-by-side trials

Manage seed treatment needs and processes within the territory

Work with sales manager & individual salespeople to establish annual seed goals

Conduct regular meetings with the branch staff and sales teams to actively manage programs, training, and customer needs

Handle seed-related claims and resolve customer complaints professionally and within company policy

Strictly follow all company policies which include safety & regulatory

Compensation and Benefits:
