We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our Social Enterprise department. The Business Development Manager will support the department by finding dynamic and resourceful ways to develop, expand, and implement growth opportunities for current and future social enterprises operated by the Osborne Association. The Business Development Manager is responsible for each step of the Business Development Cycle (prospecting, relationship building, walkthroughs & proposal development, and successful closing).

This position is will follow a Monday - Friday 9am-5pm schedule. It will be split between 40% in office work and 60% remote work temporarily and is subject to change with or without notice.

Responsibilities

  • Research and pursue new business leads and opportunities

  • Prepare and deliver pitches to potential customers

  • Oversee the sales process to attract new clients

  • Quote & sell contracts to new accounts and build relationships to meet sales goals

  • Perform pipeline management activities to meet goals;

  1. Prospecting, cold calling, lead generation, scheduling appointments, etc.

  2. Conduct walkthroughs and generate quotes

  3. Make follow-up calls/emails, set follow-up appointments, and make formal sales presentations to prospective new business accounts

  • Partner with Directors to establish proposal pricing and job costs

  • Work with senior team to identify and manage risks

  • Provide accurate forecasts related to the product line(s)

  • Ensure customer success by identifying solution-specific needs and execute appropriate solutions

  • Achieve annual revenue targets

  • Utilize CRM software to track and report all information and activity related to developing new business

  • Foster a collaborative environment within the organization

  • Perform other duties as required

 

Education

Bachelor's degree in business or relevant field strongly preferred. A high school diploma or equivalency with a minimum of five years of sales experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree will be considered.

Experience

  • A minimum of three years of sales experience in a business-to-business sales environment

  • Experience achieving and exceeding goals and quotas

  • Experience in project management and/or sales, preferably in a start-up environment

Additional Skills

  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships

  • High attention to detail and a focus on fact-based decision-making

  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills

  • Should be competitive, energetic, positive and self-motivated

  • Strong mix of tenacity and patience to help educate potential customers

  • Experience working with CRMs

  • Flexibility to travel locally
