Position Summary

Primary responsibility is to drive catheter utilization through case coverage, taking ownership of, and management of assigned customer accounts, and grow the business by identifying new targets. This is a work from home position and the ideal candidate will live within either the Pittsburgh or Buffalo metropolitan areas.

Core Job Responsibilities:

Proven success in introducing/selling disruptive technologies to the market; specifically atherectomy or CTO
Regular activities include formal and informal presentations and/or events
Organize and manage the sales process
Knowledge of the Catheter Lab environments
Effectively manage transition of capital sale to execute marketing programs
Partner with Sales Director to create a sales plan tailored to the assigned territory/accounts
Become an expert of Avinger products and the marketing programs to assist in the development of surgical teams to treat peripheral artery disease (PAD)
Work with senior hospital staff and key surgeons in the development and execution of a plan to effectively integrate the marketing programs at new customer sites, ensuring ongoing commitment to the products.
Drive continuous expansion of the user base by working with key hospital staff and thought leaders to develop a qualified customer target list.
Drive utilization by collaborating with surgical teams to support usage of the technology.
Effectively convert high potential leads and drive training activities through partnership with Clinical Education.
Drive sale of catheters through new product introductions and solution selling
Requirements:

3 to 5-years of successful medical device sales experience
Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent, relevant sales and industry experience
Excellent presentation skills
Knowledge of the catheter lab and operating room environment
3+ years of work experience in endovascular space preferred
Understanding of endovascular anatomy, physiology and terminology preferred
Good knowledge of endovascular procedures preferred
Solid verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills to work across multiple constituents.
Team player
Self-starter with ability to take leadership in an unstructured environment.
Able to prioritize and productively manage multiple tasks.
Desire to work in an open, collaborative, and fast-paced environment
Willingness to develop creative solutions to overcome challenges
Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams with and without formal authority

AVINGER, INC. is a commercial-stage medical device company that designs, manufactures and sells image-guided, catheter-based systems for the treatment of patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD). PAD is characterized by a build-up of plaque in the arteries that supply blood to the arms and legs. The company's mission is to dramatically improve the treatment of vascular disease through the introduction of products based on its lumivascular platform, the only intravascular image-guided system available in this market. Avinger's current lumivascular products include the Lightbox imaging console and Ocelot family of catheters, which are designed to penetrate total arterial blockages, known as chronic total occlusions, or CTOs. The Company is also developing Pantheris, an image-guided atherectomy device, designed to precisely remove arterial plaque in PAD patients. Pantheris is currently undergoing a U.S. clinical trial intended to support a 510(k) submission to the FDA in the second half of 2015.
