JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Inside Sales Engineer

Department: Inside Sales

Reports To: Inside Sales Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

The Inside Sales Engineer position will provide direct support for the sales effort. This includes serving as an internal project manager responsible for coordination with vendors, basic accounting and invoicing, submittal creation & review, review of terms and conditions, preparation of subcontract agreements, release of equipment, and internal coordination with Service and Control divisions of the company.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:

Provide direct support for the HVAC equipment sales effort through:

  • HVAC equipment selections using a variety of manufacturer specific selection software.
  • Equipment pricing, project quoting, and scope preparation.
  • Project booking, billing schedule, and preparation of subcontract agreements.
  • Review of contract terms & conditions and project specifications.
  • Creation and review of equipment submittals.
  • Issuing purchase orders to vendors and coordinating the release of equipment to fabrication.
  • Internal coordination with Service and Controls departments.
  • Inside Sales Engineers are the “experts” on all equipment represented by ETSI and are expected to keep up with each manufacturer’s newest developments and product offering.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree- preferably Mechanical Engineering or a minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • AutoCAD experience is preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of computer systems – Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
  • General knowledge of accounting – purchase orders, invoicing, AP & AR, etc.
  • Relevant industry customer service experience

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position has no direct reports

TRAVEL OUTSIDE OF PA/NJ/DE

  • Less than 10%

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, type, talk on the phone, and occasionally help unload a shipment to the warehouse up to 25 pounds.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a team of highly motivated and knowledgeable sales engineers working together to support a fast paced and demanding sales force.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret complex documents such as shipping and tracking information from shippers, bills of lading, and official transmittal/cover letter from engineers; ability to create Microsoft Word and Excel documents and prepare cohesive, clear and well written emails; ability to speak English.
