POSITION SUMMARY:

Under general direction, the Regional Sales Manager visits customer facilities, provides direct technical and application support, secures opportunities to quote on customer requirements and follows up on quotes to obtain orders. They support manufacturer’s representatives through joint sales calls and technical support.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop new sales opportunities

2. Maintains favorable relationships with existing clients and contacts via both
personal and telephone sales calls and trade shows

3. Provides weekly activity/call reports concerning customer-related activities for
quotes, orders, and problems concerning customer/vendor relationships

4. Attend and manage trade shows/exhibits

5. Support manufacturer’s representatives with joint calls and technical support

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Engineering Degree and 3-5 years’ sales experience. Ability to travel 50- 60 percent of the time.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

1. Strong communication skills, self-motivated, personable, and well-organized

2. Technical aptitude with an attention to detail

3. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products—Word, Excel

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:

1. Personal computer (Microsoft products Word, Excel, Internet Explorer as well as
CRM and MRP software); typical office machines including telephone, copier, and
fax machine

2. General office machines (fax, copier)

3. Smart devices

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Involves irregular working hours both in and out of the office

2. Assistance with setting up or taking down trade show equipment

3. Travel via air or car

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS:

1. Must be able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks

WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Works in a typical office setting 50 percent of the time

2. Air travel or driving out of town 50 percent of the time
