Formed in 1997, Canary Systems is a forward-thinking fast-growing technology firm located in Tucson, AZ. We specialize in civil engineering related monitoring and instrumentation applications and operate in several markets including construction, mining, geotechnical, industrial, and public infrastructure. Risk management is a growing market and our unique products and services, and our software in particular, has positioned us as a worldwide leader in these markets. With additional locations in New Hampshire, Tennessee, Canada, California, Australia, Brazil and Indonesia, there are many opportunities within the company for learning and personal growth. We are looking for a person with a mining and/or instrumentation background to manage our Mining Group. They would operate from our Tucson, AZ office and manage and support the implementation of our systems at various projects particularly in the Arizona and New Mexico areas but also around the country and world. Some travel will be required. Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager Include: Help organize group financials including project and group costing, budgeting and forecasting Manage Mine Group staff Manage Mine Group client relations Manage sub-contractors Develop project opportunities Develop project specifications and designs Develop and deliver content such as white papers and presentations Organize project/case histories for marketing & sales Present project/case histories at conferences/client meetings Business Development Manager Expertise Desired: Mining practices including operations and risk management Business operations including management and financials Monitoring technologies including instrumentation and data service providers Geospatial data, systems and platforms Geotechnical/geomechanical data reduction and presentation methods Person Best Suited the Business Development Manager Position: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Driven to develop strong client relationships The ability to work under minimal supervision Leadership and delegation skills The ability to multitask Highly organized Detail oriented Self-motivated What We Offer: Work in a highly motivated team of professionals Career and growth opportunity Competitive salary and benefits: * Health insurance * Paid time off * Life & Disability insurance * Retirement contributions * Parental leave * Bonus Pay * Volunteering PTO * Fitness Reimbursements Salary commensurate with education and experience.
