JOB DESCRIPTION
A Solar Energy Consultant (EC) helps homeowners and businesses analyze their energy needs, with the goal of reducing their electricity costs and carbon footprint. Emphasis is placed on listening to your customer and creating a buildable design that meets their needs. Based on your findings, you'll offer solutions on how to reduce utility costs by taking advantage of government incentives in the area of solar and batteries.
TRAINING AND ON-BOARDING
Sunpower by Legacy Solar has a 6 week training and mentorship program which includes the following:
- Paid training
- Understanding how a solar system works and the installation process
- The Sandler Sales Method
- Designing solar systems based on customer goals and site data
- How to use Legacy Solar tools to create proposals
- Explaining incentives and financing
- Generating closing documents for customers
- Weekly training with the Sales Trainer
- Working with a mentor or the sales manager to help close deals
WEEKLY LEAD GENERATION EXPECTATIONS
Collect leads using a variety of methods including but not limited to the following: door knocking, attending events, networking, receiving referrals, and cold calling.
- The rep is expected to create a plan with the sales manager, marketing director, and team to generate these leads.
- 10 Leads per week should get ECs the results they are looking for.
- All referrals will be sent to the EC who sold the original project without exception if they are generated by Legacy Solar.
WEEKLY EXPECTATIONS
- Make at least 1 contact with all new leads that have not received a proposal
- Design 4 new solar systems
- Generate and send out 4 new proposals
- Make at least 1 follow up contact with all leads that have received a proposal
- Creating closing documents for 1 new customer
- Attend Sales Meetings and individual meetings with the SM (meetings with SM will be assigned by the SM)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- HS Diploma or GED
- Sales experience (REQUIRED)
- Previous Sales experience in the solar industry (PREFERRED)
- Excellent Customer Service & Engagement Skills (phone, email crafting)
- Familiarity with Google Suite (Docs/Sheets)
- Proficient in use of laptop, iPad, and smartphone
- Excellent math skills (preferably Algebra)
- Possesses a high drive for success & is a quick learner
- Willingness to travel
- Valid drivers license with clean record
- Flexibility with customers schedules
- Self motivated and willing to try new things to generate sales and leads
- Resides in or is from Pontiac, IL or surrounding area
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Commission and Bonus structure to be discussed during interview process, but Energy Consultants can easily be making 6 figures in their first year

- Company Vehicle (once you close an average of 6 sales for 3 months straight or you reach 1 year)
After 90 days of employment:

Starting the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment, eligibility for:
- Company paid Health Insurance: 80% start of 1st year; 90% start of 2nd year; 100% start of 3rd year and for subsequent years

Pay: Up to $150,000.00 per year
