Lumber Sales Associate

Barney & Carey Specialty Lumber Company, is seeking a full-time Sales Associate to join our staff at our Avon store. Qualified applicants should have prior experience working in retail and customer service and a basic knowledge of the lumber industry.

The person hired for this role will be responsible for waiting on customers, answering phones, providing product and pricing information to customers, and maintaining general housekeeping of the sales counter, retail, and product displays.

Additionally, this person must be able to work some Saturdays. The candidate must be outgoing and like to work with trade customers. Basic woodworking/lumber knowledge is helpful but not necessary.

Salary: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour plus commissions. Pay is commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities include:

-writing up orders from customers either at the counter, email or via phone
-picking orders
-pricing orders
-receiving stock and stocking shelves
-lifting heavy stock

-warehouse organization / fork truck unloading deliveries
-various other day to day tasks

Experience is preferred but not required. We are happy to train a motivated, reliable individual.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
