Apex Industrial Solutions is hiring for our “Industrial Outside Sales Engineer” position. Candidates for this position must be dynamic technical sales professionals. Apex is a rapidly growing company that serves a wide base of customers but focuses particularly on manufacturing, original equipment manufacturers and contractors. Food and beverage and general industrial manufacturing are key areas where our product lines excel.

An industrial outside sales engineer will be responsible for promoting the brands that Apex represents and distributes to end user plants, mechanical contractors, original equipment manufacturers and engineers/architects.

The position entails a territory in the midwest along with a vehicle, expense account, computer, cell phone, 401k, paid vacation, excellent commission opportunities.

Base salary starts between 60k and 80k based on experience with bonuses and commissions. Total compensation package is intended to be north of 100k annually.

Outside sales are expected to visit with 10 accounts in person per week. Those accounts will be spread around so there will be overnight travel. Typically overnight travel is limited to no more than 2 consecutive nights on the road and limited to 2 times per month…. If a person desires to travel more there is no issue with that. We currently have 2 territories that need additional sales engineers.

Outside sales engineers are required to use our CRM to log calls and enter in customer information. There is an inside sales team to assist with quotations but from time to time outside sales will be required to create and present their own quotes. There will be several vendor training sessions offered annually, we will try to get you to these in your first year so you are comfortable with the lines we sell but after that you won’t have to attend them as frequently.

We are looking for strong candidates who are proficient in selling the following products;

Boilers - Low Pressure Steam and High Pressure Steam
Steam Equipment - Heat Exchangers, Steam Traps, Control Valves, Condensate Pumps
Valves and Actuation - Actuated Valve Packages, multiple types of valves
Sanitary Process Equipment - sanitary fittings, valves, instruments, tubing, etc….
Dry bulk material handing equipment - feeders, convey equipment, blowers, magnets, rotary valves, sifters/screeners, dust collectors….

Education and Experience Requirement: We are looking for someone with a mechanical engineering degree and/or 3-5 years of sales experience selling similar equipment.
