Job Description

The Business Development Specialist provides the opportunity for growth and development. This new position is temporary with the potential for permanent employment, plus bonuses. We are seeking a highly motivated self-starter who's willing to prospect potential clients. Your job as Business Development Specialist is to get the sales process moving by building a robust lead-generation pipeline via outbound marketing, social media outreach, and making a great first impression over the phone. After gathering as much information about potential clients as possible, you will facilitate an introduction to the IHP Sales Team who will then create a customized proposal.

Principle Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Identify prospects using current lead database, social media (Linked In) or other avenues.
  • Make outbound calls to prospective clients daily to generate interest and cultivate relationships
  • Record all outcome from calls and other communication in client relations management system
  • Communicate in a professional and pleasant manner with prospects and colleagues
  • Utilize reminders in CMR software to continually follow up with prospects to maintain momentum.
  • Schedule calls or meetings with potential clients and the VP of Customer Development
  • Maintain and submit weekly prospect and suspect lists for review by VP of Customer Development
  • Meet regularly with VP of Business Development to strategize and convey progress
  • Other duties as assigned by VP of Business Development

Qualifications/Required Capabilities:

Education / Experience: Bachelors Degree Preferred

Communication skills: College-level verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals both internal and external of varying levels of authority including clients.

Organization skills: Initiates, develops and maintains relationships with multiple external partners. Able to prioritize and organize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints. Must have the capacity to balance both short- and long-term issues effectively and handle many simultaneous and often conflicting and changing priorities.

Detail Oriented: Able to proofread typed materials for contextual, grammatical, typographical and spelling errors. Pays close attention to details.

Client Service skills: Tele-Sales experience with high outbound call volume. Excellent listening skills. Results oriented; a strong desire to have a career in Sales.

Problem solving skills: Logically think through and solve problems involving several variables. Remain objective in gathering information and investigating issues. Is open to changing situations and opportunities and Is available and willing to work required hours to ensure work product is delivered on time.

Computer and Social Media Skills: Extensive experience using CRM's such as SalesForce, etc., along with Microsoft Software and Google Suite of products. Previous experience leveraging social media as a marketing tool, Linked-In preferred.
