JOB DESCRIPTION

Department:  Sales

Reports to:    Site Manager

Supervises:   None

Purpose:

Builds customer relationships by traveling to customer locations, perform follow-up activities on complete goods, address customer concerns, promote aftermarket sales, furnish technical support where applicable and collect profiling information to enhance the customer experience. Sells all new and used CCE, Commercial, Agricultural and Turf equipment to new and existing customers.  

Responsibilities:

 

  • Runs a delivery route to customers providing value and support to customers
  • Sells and Markets John Deere Equipment, parts, and service
  • Performs follow-up calls at customer locations on complete goods and major parts
  • Addresses customer concerns and resolves problems effectively and satisfactorily
  • Profiles customer’s and his machines creating fleet lists to store in business system and demographic information  
  • Reviews purchase orders ensuring information is accurate and submits supporting paperwork to the Accounting Department
  • Represents the company for the sale of machinery to customers in a defined sales area, outside the dealership.
  • Maintains current product knowledge on features and benefits of all equipment potentially saleable by the dealership
  • Monitors competitive activity/products and timely communicates to management
  • Maintains all customer information in assigned territory for sales management
  • Knows and follows a defined sales process
  • Maintains assigned company vehicles and equipment
  • Assists with the preparation and execution of customer events
  • Conducts new equipment field demonstrations
  • Monitors trends in customer’s business activities and timely communicates to management
  • Maintains current knowledge of financing options to assist customers with securing the purchase of new and used goods
  • Attends applicable sales training events/seminars/meetings
  • May maintain current knowledge of used equipment values and ability to evaluate properly for trading purposes

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

 

  • High School Diploma and 2+ years equipment sales experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Commercial, agricultural or turf equipment and farming or operational practices preferred
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Excellent customer relationship skills, self-motivated and outgoing personality
  • Ability to analyze and interpret basic sales reports
