TSE is an entrepreneurial, globally recognized company located in Shreveport, LA, where we are a fully operational facility with Engineering, Sales and Manufacturing departments all under one roof. TSE International, Inc. designs, manufactures and markets conductor handling equipment for use in the construction and maintenance of electrical transmission and distribution lines, and telecommunications/fiber optic projects. The TSE product line includes a complete range of overhead and underground pulling units, tensioners, stringing blocks, swivels, ropes and other accessories.

We are currently looking for a strategic, entrepreneurial GENERAL SALES MANAGER.


As a member of the senior management team, this position embodies the responsibility for marketing and sales activities, including functions such as market research, estimating and issuing proposals, agent/dealer and distributor agreements for TSE. It requires planning, organizing and controlling the total sales operation within the policies and general guidelines established. The position overview is to be used as a guideline only and may not incorporate all functions of the job.


  • Create and manage a strategic sales plan for TSE to ensure continued sales growth
  • Develop realistic monthly shipment (sales) forecasts and prepare records to show actual performance with respect to the forecast
  • Take an active interest in the make-up and issuance of all customer proposals to ensure the commitments of TSE with regard to price, delivery, commercial terms, etc. are acceptable and conform with established policy
  • Ensure estimates of cost presented for proposals are accurate and backed up with sufficient documentation for future analysis
  • Assume responsibility for the contents of the finished goods inventory
  • Recommend and implement marketing each of the product lines
  • Negotiate and formalize all contracts and agreements with agents, dealers or distributors within the framework of TSE’s policy, and in its best interests
  • Keep informed regarding the activities, market strategy, product development and pricing formulas, etc., of the competition wherever possible
  • Coordinate the activities personnel within the department and ensure everyone is working toward common company objectives
  • Motivate and lead the department to higher levels of efficiency, achievement and profitability


  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration/Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 7 – 10 years of sales management experience in a manufacturing environment with a heavy equipment focus
  • Action-oriented professional with a working knowledge of effective management practices, team development approaches, coaching, influencing and group dynamics
  • Proven ability to influence and effectively collaborate with leadership at all levels
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management, business process improvement, strategic planning, organizational assessment, change management, quantitative analytical abilities
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the competitive landscape and external influences that impact business development and profitability
  • Able and willing to travel extensively to support the sales team; committed to remain at customers’ locations until the sales order is closed if required
