Red Rabbit Automation, an exciting new automation business endeavor from the team at Vickers Engineering, seeks an ambitious Sales Representativeto join our innovative new team. The Sales Representative will develop a pipeline of business in the Great Lakes region for our automation services. The ideal candidate will have business development experience and the technical know-how to identify customers that will benefit from our solutions. While this position will need to visit our New Troy, MI headquarters once a week to begin with, you will have the opportunity to work remotely. This is an exciting time to join this new venture at the ground level. You will have the benefit of working in a growth oriented, start-up culture but with the resources and support of an established industry-leading organization.
 
This role is geared for a hunter mindset, someone who is not afraid to make the calls and have the face to face interactions needed to overcome roadblocks and close business over a long sales cycle (6-12 months selling complex, high investment solutions). Duties and Responsibilities for the Sales Representative:

  • Plan and schedule sales activities, including prospecting and meetings required to achieve sales goals
  • Following-up on pre-existing leads, qualifying customers, and developing relationships over a long sales cycle
  • Manage a customer through the quote and the pre-production process
  • Facilitates the acquisition of all relevant information between the customer and our internal operations and engineering team
  • Work primarily remotely, traveling to customer sites in the Great Lakes region
  • Develop a marketing strategy and act as the face of the company at industry trade shows
  • Other duties as necessary for sales success

Requirements for the Sales Representative:

  • 2+ years of B2B business development experience required
  • Automation experience, CNC Sales experience a plus
  • Ability to manage a customer through a complex quote process is preferred. Experience quoting automation services is advantageous but not required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Available for 10-20% overnight travel. Experience working remotely/independently is required
  • Marketing and trade show experience is a plus
  • High accountability and ability to self-manage your time and sales efforts
