Miami Purveyors, Inc. has an established reputation of being South Florida's premier specialty meat and poultry purveyor to the foodservice industry servicing not just Florida but also Latin America and the Caribbean since 1956. Our thriving company is expanding its reach in product lines and territories and is looking to hire several highly driven and motivated Territory Sales Representatives with basic knowledge of the foodservice industry.

Miami Purveyors, Inc. is seeking talented and motivated sales team members!

  • The ideal candidate will have some experience in the Foodservice Industry or is a graduate of any Culinary Institute.  This is a fabulous opportunity to work with elite chefs, restaurants, hotels and clubs while having a normal schedule and flexibility.
  • Graduates from hospitality schools are encouraged to apply as well.
  • If you don't have sales experience, but do have experience or education in foodservice we will train highly motivated individuals who can demonstrate that they have tremendous drive and interpersonal skills which will allow them to forge new relationships with new accounts.

Miami Purveyors caters to the most distinguished chefs and culinarians in our territory and represents the most highly regarded brands in the industry. We pride ourselves in our craftsmanship and artisinal skills related to our manufacturing of custom cut meat and poultry products.

This is the ideal position for experienced chefs and culinarians who wish to consult other chefs in their meat and poultry procurement procedures, menu development, product specifications, and cost analysis while having more flexible schedules and hours.

 

This position reports to the Director of Business Development and the responsibilities include:

• Identifying and developing new customers while marketing the history of our company and the benefits of our diverse product line and the exceptional quality of our manufactured items and unexcelled service.

• Calling on current customers and identifying their needs daily and forecasting future needs

• Collecting payments for open receivables occasionally

• Developing order/price guides

• Communicating orders to administrative support staff

• Maintaining call sheets and follow-up reports

• Distributing marketing and promotional materials

• Sampling and promoting new products and product lines

• Following up on customers’ requests and communicating with internal departments.

• Conducting business reviews

• Assisting customers in menu development and product application

• Meeting specific sales goals and gross profit margin targets

• Daily networking with owners, chefs and buyers as well as attending special events

• Attending manufacturers’ sales presentations

 

The Sales Representative will be trained in sales as it pertains to meat and poultry and should be eager to embrace the foodservice and hospitality industry. All training periods are paid.

 

JOB QUALIFICATION:

·        High School diploma required

·        Culinary Degrees preferred, but not required

·        Degrees in Marketing or Sales preferred, but not required

·        Self-starting, confident and motivated individual with excellent verbal, written, presentation and communication skills who is able to excel in a fast paced environment.

·        Individuals prepared to market the most elite productlines.

·        CULINARY EXPERIENCE PREFERRED; Sales experience preferred.

·        Candidates must be confident and have effective computer skills in Excel, Word and Email

·        Must have a laptop

·        Must have a valid driver's license, auto insurance and a reliable vehicle as much of the work requires driving to prospective and current customer facilities.

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

·        The Sales Representative will receive a biweekly stipend and will also earn a commission on all sales.

·        There is no cap on commission income. The applicant can expect earnings potential during the first 2 years to be between $40,000-$85,000 or MUCH MORE, commensurate with experience, knowledge and drive.

Success in this position is dependent upon a sense of passion for great quality food, hospitality, the restaurant industry, industry knowledge, drive and the ability to close sales.

 

This is a full time permanent position.
