Fancy Foods Inc. was established in 1981; we are one of the most prominent companies in the Largest Food Distribution Center in the World - Hunts Point Cooperative Market.  We are proud to partner with retail and foodservice customers including independent grocers, supermarkets, foodservice distributors, and food manufacturers.We have become the independent food retailers point of destination for Organic, Grass Fed, Antibiotic Free and All Natural protein products.  We service over 1,000 foodservice, wholesale, retail, and Military Commissary customers 6 days a week with next day deliveries.  We deliver over 2,000 refrigerated, frozen and grocery items to upstate NY, Philadelphia, Connecticut, Long Island, and New Jersey.

Fancy Foods Inc. is seeking a passionate, hardworking individual that would fill the sales associate position. This individual will be managing and developing new and existing customers within an assigned customer base and/or a given sales territory. The sales associate will be supporting company sales goals by utilizing professional sales techniques and effective marketing of company products and providing excellent customer service to promote relations and retention with existing accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities includes the following essential functions:

  • Meets or exceeds established sales objectives

  • Establishes new accounts, develops, and maintains existing assigned accounts, increasing base volume and margins.

  • Develops maximum sales potential with each customer in assigned territories through competitive sales techniques, knowledge of the company’s and the competition’s products

  • Maintains updated customer profile information including contact data and pricing structures.

  • Utilizes multiple communication vehicles, including in person visits, and presentations to existing and prospective customers to position Fancy Foods as preferred supplier.

  • Develops/maintains a target prospect list for new customer development with manager’s and marketing’s support.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Minimum high school graduate, with some business and food industry knowledge.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years successful track record in direct sales experience within the food or meat industry preferred.

  • Must have the ability to persuade and influence others (good negotiation skills).

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must have excellent listening skills and ability to use open and closed probes.

  • Must have excellent analytical ability, including problem-solving and conceptual thinking.

  • Must be able to prioritize work.

  • Must be accurate, thorough, and maintain consistent follow-through.

  • Must have strong sales skills, but also be willing and able to “roll-up shirt sleeves” to provide customer service when needed.

  • Must be computer and PC literate.
