Warehousing/Cold Storage/transportation - Locate to Portland, Oregon area
The Sales Executive is responsible for driving and directing the new sales development with prospective regional, national & international customers who could utilize our e client’s existing multi-temperature warehouse network. 50% of the time will be spent prospecting for new customers and farming out potential capital projects (ie: Greenfield, expansions, acquisitions etc.) that result from the contact made while calling on prospective new customers. 25% of the time would be spent managing any sales/business development projects. 25% of the time would be dedicated to supporting overall company sales & marketing efforts (Sales administration activity, marketing & communications).
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain/Logistics, Marketing/Communications or related field
  • 5+ years in sales/business development & Marketing
  • Must Have this Sales Experience: Warehousing, logistics, supply chain and transportation industry
  • Strongly prefer contacts in the Food Industry.
  • Very stable work record and No More than 2 jobs in the last 10 years.
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Excellent computer skills/knowledge
  • Pleasing phone manner and superb listening skills
  • Flexibility, initiative and trouble shooting skills
  • Ability to receive direction from multiple customers at one time
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Database management

Responsibilities:

  • Primary day-to-day sales contact
  • Develop new business in existing locations
  • Target potential warehousing/logistics customers (manufacturers, food service, retail, import/export)
  • Make pre-determined and agreed upon number of successfully completed calls per day via phone/email with prospective customers
  • Regularly document/report progress of sales via sales contact management software.
  • Assist regional, general manager and warehouse manager with their local regional sales efforts.
  • Utilize internal and external resources including key operations and sales team members in evaluating and exploring potential business opportunities
  • Facilitate/and or support marketing and special events that foster customer service and sales efforts.
  • Attend trade shows and professional events in an effort to stay abreast of industry trends, as well and interact and develop business and relationships with potential and existing customers.
  • Assist EVP in development of new capital ventures and services throughout the US
  • Manage sales project development from initiation to closure
  • Work with sales project sponsor an stakeholders to complete project objective outlining scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget and timing
  • Knowledge of competition and their activities
  • Serve as a professional, polished, ethical and informed spokesperson for the company
  • Ensure compliance with Good Distribution practices, Food Safety Laws and Regulations, SQF Code and Customer requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
