The 202 room Crowne Plaza Greenville with 7,500 sq. ft. of meeting space and a Ruth's Chris restaurant is seeking an experienced corporate group sales manager with great attention to detail and excellence communication, persuasion and negotiation skills to help continue our tradition of being one of the top 10 Crowne Plaza hotels in the United States. The Crowne Plaza Greenville is the recipient of The Intercontinental Hotel Groups highest award, the Torch bearer award, for excellence in Customer Service. The Group Sales Manager is responsible for effectively soliciting and developing new group accounts for their assigned markets and improving market share and ADR for established accounts.

POSITION PROFILE: The group sales manager is responsible for qualifying and finding new group accounts, as well as, growing current accounts to meet their quarterly group sales revenue goals. The positon is bonus eligible for a quarterly sales bonus payout.

  • Sales office hours are Monday to Friday from 8 am -5:30 pm. Participation is required in rotating evening Manager on Duty shifts, property site tours, lunch & learns and after-hours client entertainment. Must also attend local networking events.
  • Must possess advanced communications skills and the ability to negotiate, convince, sell and influence professionals. Advanced knowledge of sales/hospitality principles and practices.
  • Results oriented with an emphasis on both individual and team accountability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Position sells 100% of the time.
  • Achieves personal revenue goals
  • Conducts property site inspections.
  • Attends appropriate trade shows, as needed. Open to travel if needed.
  • Monitors local business media sources to uncover new potential regional business and penetrates existing regional corporate accounts.
  • Reviews Daily arrivals; isolates and solicits potential new accounts.
  • Performs any other duties as requested by Director of Sales and as required based on business need.
  • Organizes and attends VIP Client receptions
  • Organizes and executes local area blitzes
  • Uncovers and books group business from area corporate accounts.
  • Partners with National Sales to maximize hotel revenue from Global Account
  • Meets or exceeds monthly, quarterly, and annual room night and revenue goals as assigned by market
  • Makes sales appointments and cold calls to consistently prospect accounts for all direct sales segments.
  • Meets or exceeds weekly sales solicitation call goals as assigned by the Director of Sales.
  • Participates and is involved in community organizations as assigned for networking and to grow Corporate accounts

Experience: Minimum 2 years of Group Sales Experience in a full service hotel highly preferred
