Job Purpose:

The Membership Director will work closely with the General Manager to develop and achieve membership sales and revenue targets.

 

Maintains Staff by:

• Recruiting, onboarding, and developing a team of informed and motivated Membership Representatives that consistently achieve sales goals while also demonstrating genuine hospitality by helping fulfill Club Fit’s vision of caring about our members well-being, embracing our neighborhood, showing attention to detail and delivering genuine hospitality

• Providing leadership to the staff by working with them to develop and improve systems designed to meet/exceed sales goals on an ongoing basis

• Ensuring that team members understand and promote Club Fit’s many service offerings

• Communicating and helping staff to promote and live a healthy lifestyle

• Consistently training, coaching and mentoring staff to ensure personal development, quality service and future growth

 

Accomplishes Staff Results by:

• Clearly communicating job expectations and aligning them with Club Fit’s mission statement

• Conducting weekly team meetings to guide goal achievement and to reinforce systems, policies and procedures

• Providing team trainings that focus on enriching representatives’ knowledge base

• Planning, monitoring, and appraising performance results

• Coaching and disciplining employees, initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures

• Providing leadership to Membership team members and managing the overall direction, coordination, supervision and development of membership team members

• Manage sales administrative tasks to help with membership tasks

 

Manages Department Strategy and Planning by:

• Developing the annual membership business plan and annual budget.

• Setting monthly bonus targets for the membership sales team

• Paying attention to details by ensuring our membership materials are current and accurate

• Completing new hire paperwork and payroll accurately and timely

• Assembling and analyzing critical membership sales control information; monitoring results achieved compared to budgeted targets, recommending and approving sales actions

• Assisting the General Manager with monthly financial reviews, and developing annual budget targets, and updating projections

• Administering Membership department systems including: creating monthly work schedules for Membership Representatives and preparing daily and monthly sales reports

• Attending weekly manager meetings providing membership department updates and reporting on status of sales goals

 

Manages Operations by:

• Creating and planning outreach onsite and offsite to assure we are embracing our neighborhood

• Partnering with Club Fit department teams to ensure promotion of offerings and close collaboration and coordination of efforts with Member Services department to enhance the member experience.

• Working closely with Reception management and key staff on guest processing

• Responding to members inquiries about Club Fit programs and services in a professional and timely manner

• Completing payroll and ensuring that time worked onsite and offsite are recorded.

• Interacting with department managers to obtain the contact information of non-member participants so that we can follow up with them to join the club

• Maintaining a close working relationship with reception, member services, marketing, mail services and accounting

 

Maintain Professional and Technical Knowledge by:

• Attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices

• Establishing professional networks and demonstrating a commitment to embracing the neighborhood

• Maintaining current CPR and First Aid certifications

• Keeping financial information and member records confidential

 

Contributes to Team Effort by:

• Contributing to individual and team sales goal with rotation time as needed

• Attending Club events and community outreach events to promote the Club.
