Wave is seeking a Small Business Account Executive in the Redwood City, CA region!

The Small Business Account Executive primarily responsible for promoting and selling high-speed data services to small businesses throughout a specific region via cold calling, networking, referrals and door-to-door canvassing. The Small Business Account Executive is responsible for proactively researching and generating new customer leads in mid-market and enterprise level commercial customers. They will identify leads, secure qualified meetings with potential customers, review our fiber optic product offerings in phone and data. May partner with the Enterprise Account Executive to close the sale, and manage the long term relationship with the customer.  This position reports to the Regional Sales Director and reports out of our Concord, CA office, covering the San Mateo and Redwood City territories,

Some of the daily activities of a Small Business Account Executive will include:

  • Door to door sales of High Speed Internet, Analog Video, Digital Video, HDTV and Music services to small business accounts in assigned geographical area.
  • Developing and fostering relationships within business community and core groups.
  • Generating sales leads.
  • Prospect and secure new accounts using cold calling and email outreach.
  • Establish strong relationships with potential and existing customers
  • Identify and secure appointments with key business decision makers
  • Attend local community events, trade shows and other events to network and obtain potential business leads.
  • Promote product and service offerings
  • Convey order information politely and efficiently to support personnel and ensures all order information is entered accurately and within 48 hours.
  • Complete sales transactions, providing the customer with a scheduled installation stipulated by engineering and construction.
  • Complete paperwork and agreements accurately, legibly and thoroughly.
  • Maintain and demonstrates a current knowledge of Wave products, programming and promotional offers.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.

A Small Business Account Representative will have the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required. College degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years prior experience managing business accounts in a sales or customer service environment.
  • 1-2 years of practical, hands-on experience canvassing or cold-calling on small business strongly preferable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work within Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent detail orientation and follow through skills.
  • Strong discretionary skills, as this position will have access to and work with information of a confidential nature.
